Start Saving Money Today!

Thanks to the little bit of feedback that I reained and a long discussion with a few friends and family.

1st we are going to get a new to us car with the 1,000 we have in savings now (this will help it for me to be able to get a job). Than we will contuine with Scott's 2 jobs and paying medical, taxes and 10% to tithing and 10% to ourselfs. Than 850 for all the other things. Leaving us about 1300 to devote to getting debt free. Ok the journey of a lifetime. We have been living here with the in-laws since october. We've only got 6 months left if hubby doesn't get into the police accademy.

Well that's all fine and dandy but now we are really embarking on a savings and debt free and stocked mentality.

Kind of confussed don't know where to start? Do I start with the $8,000 we want to have in savings by the time we move out? (We've already got about $900 in there) Or do I start with the 13,067.94...
