I had an Ok trip to Publix the other day...the cashier was certainly impressed. I was sad because they were out of the Chinet napkins...But, of course, I got a RC!! I was able to use the .50/1 (yes, you read that right) Hamburger/Tuna/Chicken Helper q's I picked up the other day at WinnDixie. ;) That made the Hamburger Helper free + tiny overage. I only had two q's for the BC frosting :frown: and was able to get them free + overage. I guess the only thing I paid for was the penny item and the vegies (I paid .20 and .19 for them)...I guess you have to have something to pad your overage, though! lol

On the receipt
Order Total: $.24
Sales Tax: $.58
Grand Total: $.82
In the picture:
8 Hamburger Helpers
2 Tuna Helpers
2 BC frosting
2 GG Valley Fresh Steamers

When I first started couponing at Walgreens, I was more than a little confused. It's gotten better, but I'd say I still have a lot to learn. :)

I'm happy about getting a register reward corrected that I should have received last week, but managed to leave the store without noticing it was missing from my RR stack. The manager fixed the mistake and now I feel like I got a good deal!!!

I purchased Gillette deodorant on clearance and used a coupon for $1 off, then another coupon for free Gillette body wash, for which I received a RR for a second free body wash. Good deal? I think so. For about $3 I got one deodorant and two large bottles of body wash. Not a great deal (since it wasn't free), but a good deal nonetheless. :)

All in a day's work. LOL!

We are a family who will loose our home if we don't drastically change, and I mean drastically. We have lived in our home since 2001. In that time we've had three children (on top of the three we already have), two miscarriages, my husband has had two job losses, and we've had many medical treatments and a few surgeries. Five of us have glasses, and the littlest one has very expensive lenses. We homeschool, and our bills are overwhelming. At least our vehicles are ours outright and we have no credit cards. But my husband has a school loan and we have mortgage. It's just a lot to bear on very little salary.

My husband saw a member of AFC in his store, and was impressed with her savings. She said she has 7 kids and homeschools, and it has saved her a lot of money. She gave him a few coupons in fact that day that he used right away. He told me about this site, so I got on.

So I found the coupon area and have printed many online. We only have b/2 in our printer right now, so I am nervous and don't know if I can even use the hundreds of coupons I've printed already. We shall see. I also tend to think of my shopping time as a BIG chore and do not go out often, trying to only shop from a menu list once every few weeks. Of course, we run in often, but whew, I really don't want to do the every day thing. I am a slow shopper and with 6 kids, it's hard to imagine how I'll do it.

I also get frustrated when you have to jump through hoops to get to the coupons to print. It takes my time from me, and with little ones and homeschooling, I want to get to the coupons fast not slow.

I'm brainstorming how to get coupons from the newspaper without paying for the newspaper. I recall seeing papers with coupons at McDonalds in the summer...and also know hotels have Sunday papers that just get tossed (or at least used to when my husband worked there). I wonder if those can be salvaged in any way? I may try to get family to give me coupons they don't need. Grandparents tend to not buy all the cereal our family eats.

Just getting started, and hope to really learn and really save. This means saving our home, really!

We got a book for our first son on Shutterfly.com several years ago. This year we ordered one for our younger son.

You send in a photo of your child (online) and they incorporate it into a book. There are about 10 "commercial" stories to choose from (Sesame Street, Dora, Diego, and others), or you can make a whole book out of photos of your own family.

It's a hard-cover book, really well done, and long - they give a lot of pages for the money. The price is $39 but I think ours will be around forever, and possibly will be family heirlooms. They have a free shipping special right now on orders over $30 - the code was at the top of every screen. It took about 10 days to receive the book.

Merry Christmas!
