My Food Lion Manager verified today that the Bi-lo stores will be sold to Food Lion, she said the sale should be final somewhere around the first of the year.

I asked if that meant all Bi-lo would now become Food Lion and she said No, it would become another store most likely a Bloom Store.

Are we to be happy or sad??

Sad...I love my Bi-Lo...never been to a Bloom. Most Food Lion stores are gross. Hopefully the quality of the stores won't go down.

That would not be good!! Bloom does not double coupons everyday. Bloom does do triples and doubles in select locations from time to time.

I talked to a friendly FL cashier today, and she told me that she thought the closest one to us(Kannapolis) was going to become a Bottom Dollar to compete with a nearby Aldi's.

That's really awful. I do most of my shopping at Bi-lo and HT. I HATE Food lion and Bloom.

Ok, these posts all tell me my fun shopping is also over. Bi-lo is so coupon friendly and I am not familiar with Bloom, so guess we won't have any doubles and triples here except Harris Teeter and Ingles.

I have been saying this was all to good to be true, it would end. Now I will have to work twice as hard to save money.

I have great memories of Bi-Lo when I lived in Chattanooga so I am completely devastated! The Nashville area Bi-Lo stores either went away or became Kroger or Publix about 4-5 years ago. The only time I get to shop there now is when I visit my granddad in SC.

Drats!! I understand why a Bottom Dollar is probably the logical choice, but drats again!!

That would be so sad... I avoid Food Lion mainly because they don't double and it just doesn't seem to be worth it for me to go there if I don't have to. Bloom is ok when they double or triple but they don't do it all the time. Oh, this is really upsetting news!

I agree with Michelle, I don't enjoy shopping at Food Lion and just went to Bloom for the first time during super doubles last week; however I still spent more money than I had hoped to. Bi-Lo is very coupon friendly despite never doing triples or super doubles. I still can count on getting great deals there on a weekly basis.

I am sad about it!

I live in Chattanooga and I LOVE Bi-Lo.. I never shop at Food Lion they are way too expensive and with Bi-Lo doubling q's everyday there is no need for me to go anywhere else...

Food Lion is the closest grocery store to me (besides Ingle's, but I never go there) and I hardly ever go there to shop. I usually price match their sale prices at Wal-Mart so I don't have to make so many trips.

The employees there are friendly enough and the store is not dirty but the prices are not good at all usually and so I prefer Bi-Lo over them anyday although it is further away. I really hope that they don't quit with the double couponing just because they purchase them.

My friend @ work says the same thing about FL. I've shopped there on occasion, but I never liked it enough to go back on a consistent basis.
I have plans to go to SC for Thanksgiving, so I will definitely need to make one final shopping trip at Bi-Lo Shopping @ Bi-Lo and Wal-Mart (only when I needed to go there) provided me w/ money in college to afford pizza and homemade Margaritas on the weekends

I hope it does not happen also. I guess it depends on WHO you ask. I had two different stores tell me it is. One was Bi-lo and the other was my Food Lion Manager. I guess time will tell.

God No. That will be so depressing. All our Food Lions are gross here and our Bilo Is a Complete from the Ground up BRAND NEW store, do you really think it will be changing (ALL of them?)

No more double coupons no more pennies for the BOGOF stuff and dont forget my DEEPLY DISCOUNTED GASOLINE!!!! Im in Charleston which I believe was the very first to do the gas. And i love that!!

Wow, no gas stations at our Bi-Lo stores around here. I'm really worried now and I'm hoping that they don't convert the Bi-Lo's here into Food Lions because we have way too many of those already. Food Lions are everywhere around here.

I'll be very sad if this comes to fruition! Our Super BiLo is brand new within the past year or two and is so nice! Also, we get the Fuel Perks, which is awesome! All the Food Lions that I have been to in the Charleston area are so nasty, I would never shop there even if they had good sales or doubled coupons, which they don't! At least I still have Publix for everyday shopping and Harris Teeter for triples and super doubles!

This makes me so sad My HT moved out a few years ago and before they did I had bilo and a ht to stop on my way to work then when ht closed all I had was bilo. Now I will have nothing.

sad---no double every day...if bloom--nice when bloom does super doubles or triples but since there is an Aldi's near our bi-lo...then bottom dollar--YUCK!
