I'm debating because there's a Big Y down the street from me. But on the other hand I feel like it's against my principles.

um nope...i am not paying a company so i can get "sale" prices. Their sales are generally not that good so it's not worth it to me. You can save on gas with the card but only at select stations which in my area are out of my way and more expensive than other stations to begin with.

Big Y is geographically closest for me, I just was there yesterday for a few things and the cashier was trying really hard to sell one of the cards to the lady in front of me! thanfully she didn't pitch it to me.

I never get silver coins so no point. How do you get them at the pharmacy? Is there a special deal?

I have plenty of silver coins and I carry them with me...so there's really no point in getting the card...plus my family and friends give me their extras too...

Most of the time I only use the coins when they a weekly special like the other week when they had Rye bread for $1.48.

My boyfriend has the silver card, but they gave it to him for free...based on his shopping or maybe for the fact that he used to the date the store manager? He really only uses it to save money on gas though.

I'm not planning on getting one - I don't shop at Big Y very much - their sales aren't as great as I can do elsewhere. But even if they were, I have a problem with spending money only to save money!

Every time you get a prescription filled, you play the "game" and automatically get a coin. Silver or gold.

Apparently you can trade in four silver coins for a gold coin (with the card only, I assume?), so he could trade in some of your silver coin stash. That would rock!

I have the card, but only because the marketing department gave it to me for free because of my blog. I haven't used it at all yet. But maybe they are thinking I will "sell" it for them on my blog. I very rarely shop there and honestly do not think I would spend any money on the card

That would be awesome! It's definitely worth looking into, I think he might have an old stash of silver ones in a drawer somewhere too....hmmm....

Well, I have to admit, I broke down and bought a card. I have a Big Y right in town and I'm shopping for a lot of people. I never have enough coins for a good sale and with the card you can buy 5 of any silver coin items you want. I needed hamburger and butter is 1.98 this week which is .50 cheaper than Costco. It already paid for itself for me. We'll see if it's worth it over the long hall. The stores I'm near are so expensive -Stop and Shop and Shaw's.
