A "bump" is when someone writes a message on a thread just to "bump" it back to the top of the recent posts list. It is a reminder of sorts for people to look at it. Most people (me included) only look at the first page or two of posts, so this brings it to our attention and hopefully gives the post more traffic.

I found that out too, but that's ok. I used the email that I always use for freebies and things like that so I expect it from time to time. Also, yahoo has a pretty good mail filter. I've only gotten about 10 extra messages in my inbox from this.
