I heard sometimes in June from a friend of a friend that Bru was taking back old avent and dr. browns bottles and giving you new bpa free bottles.
I had called my local bru and they said yes but that they had to put me on a list and would call me when they got a big shipment of the dr. browns bottles.
I totally forgot about it till right now and thinking I never got a call from them and its been almost 2 months. Do you think they may have stopped doing this as i also heard they are changing their policies?

Are they just Avent and Dr. Browns, or any BPA bottles?

They were as of last week. I would call your individual store and ask. That is what I did before I went. When I got there I had no problems! Please post and let us know what you find out!

I was just there last night and exchanged Gerber Nuk bottles. I heard each store is different, some will take without lids and some won't even touch if you are missing a part. I would call and get specifics, along with the names of whom you spoke with. Good Luck!

On a side note. Dr. Brown's bottles had just arrived at the store I was at with buy 3 get 1 free. (the 4th was attavhed to the 3 pk) Also, Walmart is offering the MAM' s BPA free bottles for 11.96 so if you print off and bring in the on-line add they will price match it Also starting August 29th, there is a coupon for 15% most bottles.

Some of the other brands they are taking back are Evenflo Comfi, Soothies, First Years, Ventaire, as long as they sold that brand, they will return.

My store is still taking them back. They are doing an exchange for value, so you won't necessarily get bottle for bottle. But you do have to get more bottles with the amount of money they determine based on the ones you are taking back. So, for example, you can take back 8 bottles and end up with 4 non-BPA ones to go home with...

i took back a bunch of avent bottles and got a credit for like 270 and i had to spend it on bpa free bottles ... some of them didnt have the dome caps on them so they wouldnt take em back. i was thinking of taking the dome caps off the new ones at home putting them on so i could return the last 12

Does anyone know if they'll take back the Avent Isis pump and microwave sterilizer as well? - Thanks

i doubt it as they dont make bpa free versions of those items

yes toys r us is.. I just took mine back friday I had 16 or 17 of them.. I got $4.99 a bottle..good deal with a gc to toys r us or babies r us

I just got off the phone with BRU and TRU in my area, TRU said they aren't doing it. BRU said they are but you have to have proof of purchase within the last 13 months. I used the for DD and DD2 is on the way. Any advise?

BPA was in the news again today so it may not hurt to try to call again. The news story today said that the FDA wasn't satisfied with the findings that it was safe and more research needed to be done.

I just called my local BRU in Plano, TX and they are still replacing the bottles. I have Avent and they said I have to have all the parts (bottle, ring, nipple and dome cap...not sure about the sealing discs) to return them or else Avent won't give them credit. I'm missing some pieces so I'm ordering replacement parts for about $10 at BRU online but I'll get about $20 in bottle credit for doing that. So I think its worth it. They also said I don't have to stick with Avent. I can replace them with any BPA free bottles dollar for dollar. Sweet!

My BRU store in Richfield, MN - stopped doing it on August 15th - unless you have a receipt.
