| TRU/BRU no longer price matching
FYI, just received this email from BRU customer service Thank you for contacting the Toys R Us family. We apologize for the delay in response to your e-mail. Unfortunately, we do no offer price matching at this time. We apologize for any inconveniece this may have caused for you. Thank you once again for contacting Toys R Us. Sincerely, Amanda Rabe Funny thing is I sent sent them a message informing them of my recent experience at BRU. I was overcharged for a couple of Carter's sleepers that were clearly marked in store as 2/$20. I also used a BRU coupon for 15% off entire clothing purchase that included regular and sale priced baby clothing. I didn't realize until I got home that I was charged $10.19 a piece for the sleepers. So, I returned an hour later with the receipt for a price adjustment and was denied. I was told that they could not do this because I used a coupon. I was so frustrated that I just ended up returning everything because I did not have another coupon to repurchase. Upon returning home, I fired off an email requesting their coupon policy and informing them of my experience. This is the response. I guess they don't even price match within the BRU/TRU family! |

That's weird because I was just at BRU today and saw signs saying they did price match. My BRU also takes coupons from Buy Buy Baby as well (only non-expired ones though). |

Definitely weird, because I wasn't inquiring about their price-matching policy. I was just telling them about my experience and wanted a simple explanation as to why they were unable to correct the price of my purchases to at least their advertised price, let alone the advertised price with their coupon. I sent them another email in response to this reply clarifying my message, but no response. Oh well, after that ordeal, they're no longer the first place I'll go to make a baby purchase. I guess the most frustrating thing about this is that the store and corporate customer service don't seem to acknowledge or understand the problem.

Wow, that's horrible customer service. I can't believe that. As for the price-matching, in the mailer I received last week, they refer to their price-match policy and say to refer to stores. I haven't inquired, and now I'm afraid to. Amazing.

ok - things are even weirder now. I got a mailer from BRU with a 20% off coupon and it also states in plain writing that they price match other stores, etc. So who knows...
