I LOVE thrift stores. We're lucky here in Phoenix, every two weeks all of the stores go 50% off for the day! I've found a few phone numbers, a couple bucks and a sample pack of dog treats in pockets. I can't imagine finding weed! How hilarious!

Oh this is hilarious! The thing is, if you had not checked the pocket and sold it and shipped it, and a narc dog would happen to sniff it out somewhere along the line, they would have arrested you and the buyer! OMG! =) Both of you having no idea what you were needing to explain! When I was an MP in the Army and we were going throug MP school, they sent us out of the classroom for a 15 minute break. While we were outside, they lit (I forgot what the real name for it is, but it is a substance that, when burning, smells EXACTLY like pot. It is used often by undercover cops, they burn it in the ashtray in their car, etc because the person they try to buy from will smell it and feel a little more comfortable about selling drugs to them if they think the person just smoked a joint..* *)anyway, they then called us back in from break and watched to see the looks on our faces, laughing at the ones who "recognized" the smell! It was hilarious.

LOL that was a funny one. You did get a good find for $4.00 Burberry, but I would have died finding that in the pocket. That's wild

$202!!!!!! Can you believe that? It also had a small hole on the neck (which I mentioned in my description) the buyer loved it (God bless that person!!)

About 8 years ago I found a little bud vase, that I simply fell in love with! I could tell it was old, and aside from the crazing from being old, there were no chips, etc at all. I put it on my dresser and would admire it every time I walked through the bedroom. Then one day a friend of mine picked it up and noticed lettering imprinted on the bottom and we googled it. Yep, it was a Weller! (of course I have to admit, I didn't know who/what Weller was before that. We began doing more searches and seeing the CMV for that particular vase and found it to be around $100...(forgot to mention I paid $2.00 for it). I was proud of it and still wanted to keep it. Eventually though, I kept worrying that it would get broke and be worthless so about 2 years ago, I put it on ebay and it sold for right at $80.00! The only one other thing I found (and I still don't know the history behind it or how much it's valued at, but I know it's old) and that is a glass pencil shaped candy container. There is a small pencil in the end of it that appears to be the original pencil and the label is still on it (you can tell it is a really old label) and it reads something like "write your mother a letter" ...I believe it may have been issued or given to sodiers in an earlier war or something, maybe the Korean war, because it's older than Vietnam's era. Anyway, I paid .50 cents for it on the discount day! I have it wrapped up to keep from getting damaged, but really curious about it's history.

Anyway, I contacted the guy who purchased the one last month and asked him if he could give me any more info on it since he obviously knew enough to want it. That auction started out at 9.99 and final bid was $26.94 (s/h was $9.45). The auction that is on right now, they have a starting bid of $19.99 with less s/h fees but no bids. The one in the first auction actually still had candy in it and the ingredients label, but not the big label that reads "write your mother a letter" , etc. This new (active action is just like my pencil, no candy or ingredient label but the main label is still there, as well as the little pencil in the tip. Anyway, I paid .50 cents for it so maybe it will be a decent profit even if it doesn't appear to be highly valued. I hope that guy emails me back, I would like to know the story behind them. Both auctions listed the circa as 1930's or 1939. Candy Bottle ~ Jumbo Pencil ~ Stough Co.~ Mint w/Label! - eBay (item 170311397198 end time Mar-21-09 17:53:31 PDT)

Years ago I found an unopened original Scruples game. I was out of work so I know I did not pay a lot for it. Maybe 2 or 3 dollars tops. I sold it for over $30. Here in NYC thrift stores are actually quite pricey. I prefer garage sales during the summer and travel out to Long Island where I used to live on occasion. I don't look specifically for stuff to sell on eBay but I do try and keep my eyes out. No pot in the Scruples game (I assume as it was sealed) but that would have been pretty funny. Maddy |

I also found (and still have, for what reason, I don't know)...but anyway, I have about 4 Brand NEW, still in the celephane wrap and Radio shack price sticker, blank, recordable 8 track tapes! I think I paid about .25 each. Probably NO ONE wants them! * * maybe a collector, but I think very few people have 8 track players anymore, not to mention those with recording capabilities!

I haven't found anything as great as you guys, but yesterday I went to our local Goodwill and found 3 blazers 2 still with tags, 2 dresses, 1 skirt and 5 blouses 4 with tags and went to check out and the girl told us everything was 50% off, so all that for $26. And the best part is they are always going to be 50%, so I'll be shopping there alot. Now I just need a job to wear the nice clothes to... for 6 plus years I've been wearing shorts, jean skirts and tank tops, I'm guessing I won't get that lucky again.
