I sold an item on Ebay a few weeks ago. I printed a shipping label through paypal and got a confirmation number. Now this person is saying that they didn't receive the item. I have confirmation they recieved it last week. Paypal also imports the address they give so I couldn't of sent it to the wrong address. Can this person file something through the post office? I really don't know what else to tell this person. I feel I have done everything I was suppose to. Any other advice??

your delivery confirmation will suffice as proof of delivery. Don't worry about it. if buyer files for INR, just send paypal the link to DC for verification. They will not refund buyer's payment if it shows it was delivered. Good luck!

btw, for as long as you sent to the verified address when paypal was sent, you are protected. there are some sellers who agree to sending to a different address and that doesn't protect them when buyer later files an INR dispute. if you sent to the paypal verified addy with DC, you're covered.

Ask if any family members may have saw the package sitting on the porch, stuck it in a closet, forgot that they did that, and then left for a business trip without telling their spouse about the delivery. Weird, but that's what happened to one of my ebay packages when the buyer claimed they didn't get it. |

I bought one of those king size Korean blankets off ebay and the seller didn't notify when to expect delivery and how it was going to be sent. A week passed and I thought I didn't get it. When I checked my front porch, there was a huge package laying by the bushes. I don't know if it came via UPS or Fedex but I think they should slip a note at doorsteps if they leave packages. If someone stole my package, the seller has status of delivery YET I do not have the item. Suggest that your buyer look around, it may be laying around somewhere. I hope he/she finds it. Good luck!

When you look at your delivery confirmation, have you looked at the details of it? You can view additional details about the delivery. You sent it to a confirmed address and the tracking details shows that it was delivered to that confirmed address then you should win any dispute with Paypal. As far as communicating with the buyer. Let them know that you are very sorry that the post office lost their package. Tell them that once it leaves your hands, you have no control over what happens to packages. Also make it clear and send them a copy of the tracking information that their package shows delivered to their confirmed address. Also, ask them to ask around the neighbors and the post office about the package. If you offered insurance, make sure that you make it clear that they did have the option of paying additional for insurance. I have dealt with this many times in the past. As a matter of fact I recently had a buyer receive a notice that they owed additional postage. I sent the package in a large envelope for a pair of socks yet I folded the envelope and taped it and was the size of a regular envelope. Apparently the Post Office let it open. Whatever happened they told the buyer that they had to pay more for the larger envelope. So I they buyer refused the pick it up. I offered to refund them for the addtional shipping charges and was really nice about it. However, they continued to refuse and refuse the package. They opened a Paypal dispute for "Item Not Received". I immediately escalated it because I knew that they were in the wrong. Paypal quickly closed the dispute in my favor. Had I refunded the buyer and not had the item returned back to me then they could have easily received their full refund then went to the post office and picked up their socks. Paypal was fair about it. You never know these days with the economy how far people will go to save a buck, legal or not. Good Luck!!!!
