Where can I find an affordable swimsuit?

I'm starting a babysitting job soon and I guess the kids I am watching are huge fans of the pool. I had to quickly get my pool pass yesterday and I don't even have a swimsuit yet. Although I realize I can go to the pool without actually going swimming I'm thinking that sitting there would get boring and am now searching for a swimsuit. Obviously it is prime time for these things and my size (looking for a 24w or 26w) is harder to come by (age 25, am okay with swim skirts but prefer something more flattering and cute as opposed to old lady floral). Still, I know if you find one at the right time with the right sale it can be a lot less expensive. (When I worked at a plus size clothing store I know women spent $80-$90 on suits and that just shocked me.) I am hoping for something $20 to $30 but understand it's a hit or miss thing. I have looked on e-bay but didn't see much of interest and am hoping some other members might have site suggestions or stores. I'm going to try a few department stores today with my mom but will have to see what else is available (as I am doubtful I will find anything).

Good luck. I don't know where to look. I usually take my mom along for those kind of things so she can whip out the credit card instead of me.

This site has some suits, and new customers get a 15% off discount with the code ftv15..it's worth a look. I like that their models are "real sized" models, so you can see what it looks like on a "real sized" girl.
Check out the tankinis and skirtinis.....some are REALLY cute, and pretty reasonable!

I'm not proud of it but I ended up finding one that was $39 (half off of $78) at JcPenney. It was way above my price range ($20-$30 and $35 if I really really liked it) but it fit well and was cute. I feel guilty for spending that much but I'm sure it will be worth it. Too bad I couldn't pay in CVS ECB, .

JCPenney : Empire Swimdress

(I can actually say the style looks cuter on plus sizes than it does on the model. She's too skinny for the suit.)
(I'm sorry... swim dress... not swim suit)

I have found that places like TJMaxx and Marshalls have good prices on suits. Walmart had some nice suits too in the price range.

omg! I was going to suggest this too! But mine is brown/mint green!

JCPenney : Double-Strap Swimdress

It was 40% off and I used a 15% off Q that I got from taking a JCPenney survey.

And I am proud of it...I look goooood! It covers my behind!

You know, once I looked around some more and realized that is the going price, I didn't feel quite as bad. Even Kmart was charging $40 for the original price on their bathing suits. Also, I found out it still qualified for my 5% cashback bonus award so that is a little bit of help.

You got a deal there. I grew up on the coast and knew my swimsuits (way back then). Suits have changed a lot since then. However, you have to determine how much you are going to wear the suit. Wear it a week for vacation only - go as cheap as possible. Wear it a summer, get the best possible. You never regret it in a swimsuit. The wearability, swimability, looks-ability are always best in a quality suit.
