.20 per lb for dog food? is .20 a pound for dog food a good deal? We have Purina on sale for $12.99 ( - $2.50 off peelie) for 50 lbs of dog food @ the military commissary and I am wondering if its really a good deal before we head out and buy a few bags. I am used to getting dog food for free, but its usually just small bags or canisters. 50lbs will last us a while for one dog.

I think it is a great price. Our dogs only eat Purina One (stomach issues - long story), and I thought it was a steal last week to get a 20 lb bag for 9.99 after manu and target coupons. You won't have to worry about dog food for a while!!

I think that is a good price. Our dogs eat only regular purina. I just paid 14.99 at Target with a $4 manu coupon. Your deal sounds about right.

Thanks for letting us know! I would buy it IMO. I wish OUR commissary had that deal! We are at the most lovely FT. Gordon...home of NO bargains unless you know someone who knows someone who will set a sale item aside for you. By the time I get there to shop, all is gone. (( Have a 7, 4, 3, 2 year old and it is IMPOSSIBLE to concentrate with all that chaos!! )) Thanks for taking the time out to educate us all!!

Certainly not a bad price when you gotta have some...... I've been fortunate & haven't had to pay for dog food for about the last year or so. Our Corgi likes the Goodlife recipe food which they have heavily promoted with free Q's when it came out & $3 off small bags. With $5/25 Petsmart printable Q's & about 12 $3/1 Goodlife food Q's, I was able to work several deals to get free food (on sale $2.99/bag) & leverage the printable with other mfr Q's to get free/cheap bones & snacks. Wish the bones held out as long as the food has..........with a small dog only eating about 2 cups a day, I've still got 7-8 bags left! The bones are long gone & I'm trying to find a good deal for my next stock up - that's where my dog puts the hurtin' on our budget.......
