Any tips on saving money on home renovations? My parents are hoping to put in new carpet, paint, new kitchen appliances and countertops, and tile. They are planning to do a little at a time, and I was thinking about the sherwin williams and home depot coupons out there, do ya'll have any other tips to save on these kinds of things? TIA

We have been buying GC's off ebay. To Lowe's and Home Depot at any discount we can get. It doesn't seem like a ton but even if you save $200 on $1000 is makes up for a lot in the end! HTH's!

There are some 10 off 25 coupons out there for Lowes and I know HD does the same thing (10% or something). Go to PO and pick up a changeof address envie and look in there. Sometimes there are HD or Lowe's c/os in there.

The HD coupon is usually 10% off up to $2000 purchase. However, you have to send the form that is inside that "change of address envie" available at the post office. HD sends one per HH, or address.

The Lowe's coupons seem to be easier to get than the HD ones - some HD's take the Lowe's coupon, mine doesn't...there are also some stores run by habitat for humanity that sell donated building stuff - some of it stuff they can't use, some leftover stuff. I know there's one here & I think they have them elsewhere, but sorry, don't have any more info than that! And, if you're willing to paint with other people's rejected colors (which always seem perfectly fine to me!), they're cheap.

My mom and I went to the post office, and we found some packets with the form to send in for the 10% HD coupon. We mailed one for their house and one to mine. HH-let me know if you want me to send you one-I picked up some extras.
