Question regarding Food Stamps and rewards/rebates

I was helping a friend stretch her budget and I suggested using some of the apps such as Ibotta, Groupon Snap, Checkout 51, etc. She then told me she pays with a gov't. assistance. I wasn't sure about the legalities with this. Any ideas? She said it seems like she then would be getting money back to use her gov't. card. She definitely doesn't want to do anything illegal or unethical. I told I would ask the experts here.

I have a friend that does it also. It helps her buy Health and Beauty stuff that she needs but can't get with fs.

Also, while I am not a huge fan, if you shop at Wal-Mart.... savingscatcher

The only thing to watch is the income earned from the apps when you cash out. Depending on the income threshold their family is at, the additional cash earned in the rebates would be counted as income.

Generally, the SNAP reportable income is $50 and any month with additional income received at or above this amount must be reported.

Which usually means she will be OK, but given the power to go extreme...you never know.
BTW, Savings Catcher would be the same thing...
