Help Sign How do you organize/keep up with?

Wow! I am overwhelmed at the amount of free samples and coupons on this site. It has already come in very handy and I have filled out everything imaginable for anything free or discounted. Any little bit helps in this family especially now. Anyways, I was wondering how the veterans keep everything organized? Do you use a separate email address for filling out these special offers so your main inbox isn't flooded with spam? Do you keep up with what you have filled out so you know what to expect, or do you wait for the surprise? What are your key pointers. Also, any other good websites anyone would like to share. One more thing..if I find a deal on another site can I just post it here for these members..any stipulations to doing so?

Thanks, great site!!!!! I've shared it with close family members already!!!

I do have a spam account for all the freebies I sign up for. gmail.com, hotmail.com, yahoo.com are all free web based email addresses you can sign up for.

As for keeping track of what I sign up for... I really dont. A good number wont actually come and there is really nothing you can do about it if it doesnt come. Plus it cuts back on things I have to manage etc. There is also a long wait period for some. It can easily take a few months at times. Coupon clipping and sorting is enough for me.

On thing to keep in mind, if walmart.com and another site both offer a free sample of the same thing. you can request both of them..

A deal from another site can be posted... but you need to verify it is a deal and make sure it works. Like if it is for an online code to get free shipping somewhere, you should go and make sure it works before posting it. If it is a free sample, sign up first and make sure it goes through before posting it here.

Walmart.com is a good place for samples.. they update their site every so often.. To find the samples on the site go to walmart.com... click on instores now in the upper right corner.. then select samples..

HTH

You can also get samples at Sam's club website. then go to 'in stores now' and you don't need a membership #.

Thanks, for the advice. I never thought of Sam's Club..it had some good samples too. Man these free sample things can become an obsession. ha ha Haven't got anything yet, but also just started, can't wait until I start getting stuff in the mail.

It's funny you posted this; I was just thinking about it the other day. I keep a notebook in which I track trades, trains & rebates, but don't note the freebies I've signed up for. Typically, I just put in the request & if it goes through, great, if not (because I've already requested one), then I let it go at that.

But recently I've been wondering if the 2nd (or 3rd or 4th, or...) is bumping me on some "list" of already receiveds. For example, after 6 months, am I eligible for the offer again (like the P&G ones that are on a perpetual cycle)? If so, and I put in a 1st request in Jan., then would I be eligible again in June? So if I don't recall request #1 & put in a 2nd request in Mar, does that move me back 3 months? These are the ridiculous things I think about & why I was contemplating adding the freebies to my notebook.

But I think there is no system that wouldn't become too unwieldy just because of the sheer volume of offers, the minute changes to them, & stuff like that (like offered at websites or slight difference in products available--like the Folgers). So at this point, I've decided to settle for being surprised. The only thing I might make note of & watch the mail for is invite coupons.

As for email address, I give a different one on a case by case basis. Major companies like P&G or Kraft go to my couponing address & they're excellent about removing you from the email list if you unsubscribe. But ones with surveys from unknown companies (like the teen mag ones for cleansers this summer) go to a junk account in case there's a spamming situation. Like there was a free calculator offered this summer. Didn't get the calculator, but got a lot of spam in my (thankfully junk) inbox. For all of the freebies, I give the wrong birth information & switch a digit in my phone number to protect that info. They don't need it & I don't want to hear from them. I use my initials only, not a first name.

I guess a good rule of thumb would be when in doubt, give a junk email address. Then if the company/offer's solid & you do want to hear from them, update your profile to a preferred email address.

HTH.

I keep track of rebates (don't do many) and trades, buys and sell, RAOK's and auctions in a notebook. However, when it comes to 'freebies,' there just ain't NO WAY!! However, in full support here of AFC, when you become a "Supporting Member," you have another email box!! AFC then forwards the mail to the mailbox of your choice!! How COOL is that!! Plus, there are a lot of other GREAT perks when you sign up to be a member! Just click on the link below and go to post #1 and find out!!

i use Bloglines for disposable email addresses. i make a new address for each company i need one for. if i find i'm not getting anything useful from them, then i can just delete the address.

i also use bloglines to follow this site's rss feed!
