Okay guys need some help here please. Does anyone shop at Sav-A-Lot? I ask because my niece and her family (2 small kids) live in a lake area with not too many options unless you drive endlessly to get there. I told her about my couponing and how it's going and she was just floored by my savings...she's "wants some of that!" - she said one of her options is Sav-A-Lot as well as the little "in town" grocery stores which I'm sure are overpriced. Does anyone know anything about this store - I'm pretty certain they accept coupons but I want to know if you all have experience. Anyway, I sent her on a mission to get me a LIST of grocery and drug stores (She said to me "What's a CVS??" :gasp so that maybe we can make some calls or when I go down there (2 1/2 hour drive) I can take her around.Sorry so long winded....any comments appreciated.

Sav a lot has very good prices, just not much selection and a lot of it is their brand. If you suggest coupon shopping at sav a lot take all your coupons, I have had good coupon finds their before but it is rare. I got some kids hair gel there for 25 cents once and that was my best deal, it was in the $1 part and I had a 75 cent coupon. Their stuff changes a lot, which is why you have to take all the coupons. You aren't going to save a lot more with coupons though, because like I said its mostly off brand stuff.

Thanks Kelly and Autumn! How disappointing! Okay, time for Plan B. Where are both of you located?? If you have a Sav-A-Lot then maybe you have the same type of stores around that one as she would. Ya know?

I live in Arkansas, my Sav-A-Lot is in Conway, over 40 miles from me, but I was just there Saturday...They do have excellent prices on stuff that you cannot get with coupons. Example, their canned chili is .69 everyday, they have sliced ham that tastes pretty good for $3.99 for a 2lb pack. They have 64oz juice for $1, canned soups are .49, canned veggies are .39. They ring your groceries up and place right back into another cart to get you through quick, thenyou bag or box your groceries at a counter at the front of the store.

Yes, take your own bags or boxes. They charge you for bags. We have a Sav A Lot here. It is in the ghetto part of the city, so I don't shop there anymore but ours was dirty and a lot of stuff was out dated. So make sure you look @ the dates on stuff.
