ChemDry Carpet man said a few creepy things and then I ask him to leave.
I almost had to call the cops.

I called to get the $99 carpet special.. . . .carpet man was being creepy, saying creepy things, then adding on extra for this, extra for that, looking around my house & said a few creepy things. He said the total bill would be $268. . . .I said I changed my mind please leave.

With my phone in my hand I had a sick feeling I may need to run outside to call the cops. . . .luckily the creepy man left. OMG!

What is a good carpet cleaning company to use?
Have any AFCers had a creepy man in your house?

OMG weird!!

I had this one guy who used to work for Maltby Electric which distributed supplies to my dad when I was younger (he was an electrician). I must have been about 15 or younger at the time. I was picking up some stuff in my PJ's (not sexy pj's they had clouds on them) in the living room while my sister was talking to him at the door because he was dropping something off. I just looked up and I smiled because he was staring at me. I really didn't think anything of it.

So after he walked down the driveway I went outside to do laundry. Not even a minute later I swear I almost die of a heart attack because there is this 6'0 or taller man standing in my garage doorway. He asked if my dad would let me date older men and what not. There was no way for me to get out of the garage unless I went past him. My sister saw and asked if he needed anything and he "forgot" to have her sign something.

We told my dad and my dad called and cursed out Maltby but nothing was done about it. He said that no one is to deliver anything anymore and he will just pick it up.

what kind of creepy things did he say?
I think my Schwanns man is a creep, I had to call the 800 number and tell them to take me off their route as long as he was delivering.

I'll have to share another! There was this one time when I was house sitting for a co worker of mine. I answered the door is was like 2pm and there was this younger looking guy at the door. He said he was selling magazine subscriptions for his brother who was overseas to help earn money for??? what I don't remember... Either way it was weird to me.. Then he kept asking me things like if I owned the home, if I had a boyfriend, if he could have a glass of water. It was so weird! I finally just gave him some money and told him goodbye. I was lucky the guy I was house sitting was a cop and had all this state of the art security systems and what not. FREAKED ME OUT!

My dh works 3rd shift and I told the schwanns man to come early b/c dh would be asleep in the eve, at first he said okay, and came in the morning slot, then her started coming late in the evening and would come on in and just stand toooooo close to me, I ordered about three times and he was just always "in my space". Like I would take a step back and he would step closer, he also asked me what I did all day why dh was asleep......It was just the combined things he would say and his overall attitude. It's hard to explain but he was a creep. I had to tell him twice that if we wanted something we would order it online, he would come by TWICE a day anyway, I wouldn't answer the door, and a few hours later he would be back. He quit coming after I called the 1-800 number

Weird.. I can understand why he would come by again because he wants to place an order and they work off commission I believe. But I hate it when people ask such personal questions and stand too close.. He would give me the creeps too!

ok I have one....was in my mid twenties and at home with my 2 kids (at the time) and there was a city truck working outside our house...in town...and I was in my garage letting my kids play with some ride on toys and one of the workers came up and asked for a hammer...someting was stuck yadda yadda....
well I get it for him and he turns to leave..turns back around and said..
"man your pretty...your way better looking than my wife"

uh goodbye !

The ChemDry man was looking at me up&down, up&down. He kept looking around my house and asking personal ques ie. . .I see an inhaler. . .you have breathing problems? You have kids? how old r they?

He was standing too close 2 me, looking at me in a creepy way, asking too many questions. . .just creepy.

Stanley Steemer sent out 2 normal guys who came out and just cleaned the carpet & left. (Yes, and only charged $112 when the creepy guy wz going to charge $275)

I glad I reported the creepy guy. The creepy guy also dropped a check for $500 from another customer in my driveway. He was so busy being creepy he lost an important check. I had the SS man call the owner of the check to retrieve it.

Oprah had a show on CREEPY MEN a few months ago.

She said if you ever have a gut feeling something is not right about a service man to pay attention & get him out of your house ASAP or just leave or call for help.

Any AFCers see that Oprah show?
