 What's wrong with my hotdogs?
A couple of weeks back I bought some OM Hot dogs and froze them. I took them out of the freezer to make for lunch and they have brown splotches all over them. I have never seen this before. Is this normal? TIA

I think meat sometimes get's discolored when oxygen gets to it. Not sure though.

I've never had this happen, and I freeze hot dogs all the time. I would take them back and get them to swap them out

We only buy the BP franks. But I stockpile them and freeze them and I've never had them do that. I'd call OM. That just don't sound right.  |

yea i would call them i buy all kinds of hot dogs and freeze them all the time but i never had that problem

The only problem I ever have is with the OM and for some reason the glue or whatever that holds the ends together always separates when I thaw them. It's the weirdest thing! Doesn't happen on any other brand -- just OM.

I had it happen with every single hot dog that I froze over the summer.....not sure why

Glad it wasn't just me. I stopped buying OM just for that very reason.

Thanks for all the responses. I usually buy BP hot dogs, just because I prefer them. I guess I learned my lesson though!
