Is there a certain time of the year that is best to watch for canned chicken? I am revamping my shopping techniques with coupons since up til now I have bought whatever was on sale and made due for the rest. DH has been out of work for six months and I want to have my food pantry ready for another six months if needed. So I want shelf stable foods (we loose power a lot) and I was thinking canned chicken, I do not/ can not use the sweet sue's chicken it smelled terrible last time I tried to eat it, just the smell made me sick!! So I know that I have had the valley fresh kind with no issue's please lmk if there are similar issue's with other brands before I stock up. Here are my questions
1)what is a good stock up price? (sams club is $2.19 a can!!)
2)what time of year should I really pay attention to for these sales?
3)what are the best brands to get that smell/taste good and last a while?
