I was so excited today to go out and do some shopping. After I had checked out of one store, the cashier gave me back all of my coupons! Including IP coupons too!! My question is, since he gave them back to me, can I re-use them (they are bricks coupons)? I feel bad because his line was getting backed up and one of my coupons didn't scan right, so I asked for the 1 coupon back so that I could fix it over at customer service and he gave them all back instead! Can someone please give me some advice on if I can re-use my bricks coupons now??? |

I wouldn't reuse a brick's Q but I'm new to using IP's. I think all of the IP's have seperate #'s on them, but I'm not sure.

I definitely would not use them, at least not the brick's. His drawer will come up short at the end of the evening- if you still have them separate, you might call customer service and let them know so he doesn't get into any trouble.

The cashier was wrong to give them back! I would call the store or go back with the coupons and explain what happened. The till will be short when they count it down at the end of the shift. They need the coupon to turn in for payment from the company. You are not allowed to use coupons again, once the coupon is scanned and handed over, it is considered VOID. Lynda |

I would say no because they can trace that bricks serial number back to your IP address (ie: you) and they can say that you used them illegally or photocopied them....I wouldn't risk it

I agree, bring the coupons to the store as soon as you can so they can get reimbursed and explain what happened.

Okay....here's the update.... I've called back to the store's CS and they've told me not to worry about bringing them back, because once the coupons have been scanned, they're "done for" anyway, so I should just throw them away. To be exact, 6 of these were Edge printable coupons (bricks), 2 were Weber Creations (from a tearpad I found at Kroger, which is a manufacturer's Q) and 2 were manufacturer's Scotch Pop-Up Dispensers. I guess what I've been told in effect is that the store doesn't really care about turning in the coupons I was given back, since they don't even want me to bring them back. I also know though that I'm cheap enough that I don't want to throw away perfectly good coupons either....HELP!!! Edit: I didn't know that they could trace a coupon that the store didn't already have (like a bricks one), but I don't want to take the chance of getting into trouble either over a few Edges...LOL! Learn something new every day I guess! Last edited by elmomommyto2; 06-10-2009 at 06:30 PM. Reason: after reading... |

That is really odd? It sounds like the person you talked to didn't know what they were talking about.

If they don't want them back, then destroy the printable ones and use the MQ's again if you want. MQ all have the same UPC and no pin #. IP have a extra Pin # and are trackable. BEST steve |

how do they expect the clearinghouse to reimburse them for coupons? they think they can just present their CRTs with entries MFG COUPON and everything will be paid? Good luck to them, the store owner may have a heart attack if he/she discovers they lost thousands of dollars from sales because he/she hired managers that don't even have some common sense to read terms on coupons where it gives them instructions on where to send the coupons for reimbursement. if store's CS don't even know, how can we expect cashiers to know better? as previously mentioned, its best not to reuse IPs, its not worth the risk to be caught with them.

Even though this is an old thread from June, if anyone else is questioning reuse of coupons or getting your coupons back from a cashier, I would read this thread: http://www.afullcup.com/forums/walma...pons-back.html

it could be that they will just write this off as a loss....probaby think it's better than having a customer go out of their way to fix something they did. Kind of like when they give gc to customers for screwing something up. I am sure they want to keep their Q's in general but it probably wasn't a huge amount and they will just live with the mistake......just an idea Now you know next time this happens to make sure and let the cashier know they need to keep them and it will probably happen againa t some point. I have them do that to me too!
