Should I only use coupons when an item is on sale? Or is just using the coupon saving enough?

I am still fairly new to all of this, but when I first began I used my coupons on what I needed to get at the store regardless of whether or not it was on sale. However, if there was a good sale, I stocked up on those items. I have been surprised at how quickly I have created a stockpile of items that I now have the luxury to wait to buy again until they go on sale.

By stockpiling when an item is on sale and you have a q, you are saving a TON more. Like pp said, you'll have the luxury of waiting for those items to go back to rock bottom prices again (hopefully with qs again) and the cycle of saving a lot more continues.

I use coupons when I purchase a product and count it as a bonus when it is on sale.

Whenever you use a coupon you're saving money! Before joining AFC I just used coupons for items I needed and it didn't matter if it was on sale or not. But now, I'm so spoiled with finding such great deals, that an item always has to be on sale...unless I am just absolutely desperate and dying for that item! You can really maximize your savings by looking at the shopping lists for stores you buy from. Items that are on sale have already been matched up with current coupons so that will help you tremendously! Happy shopping!
