I recently got a few amazon gift cards for christmas. I have seen in the past, some people really making out on diaper and wipe deals (often with free shipping). Can someone fill me in on how to get the maximum savings? I would really love to stretch these giftcards on stuff i really need!

You can get free shipping with Amazon subscribe and save, plus the price drops. I use this all of the time. You don't actually have to subscribe, I usually buy the item I want using subscribe and save, and click that I want a shipment every six months. After I get my order, I go into "manage my subscriptions" and cancel the subscription. It's super easy to do.

First, sign up for Amazon Mom. This will get you an additional 5% off from the Subscribe and Save price (it used to be 15%, grumble grumble...). Then you can just search and compare - it's really easy because they usually break down the price per item for you (ie. .13 per diaper or .02 per wipe, etc.). Shipping is free with Super Saver Shipping (it just takes 3-5 days, sometimes more depending on where you live, so you have to plan ahead). I've almost exclusively gotten my diapers and wipes from Amazon since my son was born almost 16 months ago and it's saved us a ton! In fact, when I was considering cloth diapering, I did the math on how much it would have cost to pay for the laundry, soap, etc. (we didn't have a washer and drier in our apartment) vs. diapers from Amazon and it came out CHEAPER to do disposables!

Thanks! I went to sign up for amazon mom, but it said there was a waiting list......hmmm.......anyway, they will allegedly get back with me when a spot opens......i will give it a few days since i am pretty sure that diapers will be my best bet with these gift cards.

Wow, I had no idea they were limiting it now! That sucks! Sigh...I was so in love with Amazon when Amazon Mom debuted but they've been making it less and less attractive all the time

I had read that Amazon Mom has a waiting list now but yes, combine Amazon Mom discount with the Subscribe & Save discount to get some inexpensive diapers and wipes. They also have bulk pricing and sometimes there are coupons you can clip that makes them even cheaper

Diaper deals used to be great when Amazon had coupon codes in parenting magazines. Now that is no longer. Also, since the Amazon Mom discount decreased their discount percentage a few months ago, diaper prices aren't as appealing...

I've been an Amazon Mom member for over a year and am disappointed at the savings now.

YES - keep an eye out for additional coupons that you can "clip" and sweeten the deal. Right now there is a Pampers coupon...if you go to one of the item pages (just an example... http://www.amazon.com/Pampers-Baby-D...5984476&sr=1-1) you should see a box under the price and info where you can clip a coupon for $1....it will take that off your already discounted subscribe/save and amazon mom price.

I totally agree with this statement. I signed up for all these darn baby magazines and right when my subscriptions started Amazon yanked the codes. Now, I get better deals at CVS and BRU with coupons and member rewards.

Yes the membership ARE expiring! I just got an email today saying that mine is expiring next month if I don't make a purchase of $25 or more.
