I have only had the frozen Italian Sweet Sausage and it was good. I too, would like to know what others think of their meat.

We also get the ground 93% ground turkey. Good price if I run low on my frozen stockpile.

Thanks so much everyone! I'm heading over there tomorrow and going to get some meats (different ones) just to try. Never purchased their meats before (non-frozen), so everybody's opinion helps!

Wow - Never really paid attention to the meats before at Aldi's, but after Saturday's trip, I will from now on...

Spiral sliced honey ham - $1.49 lb. I got it to fix for dinner next weekend. However, since it's fully cooked, the kids have been munching on it thru the week. I got an 8 pounder, so still plenty left to bake. But oh my gosh, it's delicious! We normally get spiral hams at Wal-Mart around the holidays ($1.99 lb) but the taste can be a little flat sometimes. This one from Aldi's is so flavorful and moist! Oh, and of course, it comes with the spice packet for baking.

Also got some 80/20 ground beef for $1.99 lb (At Kroger, I can't find it for less than $4.99 lb) - They also had 90/10 ground beef for $2.49 lb. That's a great deal too. Stocked up on ground beef - never know when you're going to need it!

And finally, the big one - Corned Beef (flat) - $2.99 lb! The last one I got was from Kroger for $4.99 lb - My kids love corned beef and cabbage and $2.99 is awesome! However, cabbage was .99 at Aldi's and .49 at Kroger.

I love their meats, at first I was unsure but a co-worker swears by them. I first tried the turkey and the rest is history..... I always stock up on the bags of chicken pieces which are cheaper IMO to Krogers and WM.

I shop at Aldi's ALL THE TIME. Some of their meats, i.e. lunch meat, pepperoni, frozen, turkeys, hams, are great. I don't particularly like their packaged "fresh" meat (but I don't like any of the gas packed meat). I still prefer to be able to talk to the butcher and buy my ground fresh. I have tried their hamburger. It seems to cook up tough. Fish sticks are a little too "fishy" for me and also tough. Haven't tried the steaks. I hear they are good. Most of their good are great. Watch the middle of the packages of fruits and veggies for spoilage. Otherwise, they are usually great too. Hope this helps.

We aren't big fans of the ground beef. I've tried it a couple of times but it seems really tough and the flavor is off. One of the very few items I won't buy at Aldi.

I agree that the hams are FABLULOUS!! I use our own glaze though, hubby doesn't care for the one that comes with it.

But, the corned beef on the other hand, blah. Chewy, stringy and blah taste. Not even naturally salty . We tried 2 of them, I thought maybe I just got a bad one the first time, nope.

We bought the burger for the first time too and hubby says best he's ever had.

50/50 depending on your own likes/dislikes, ...

I agree, their spiral sliced hams are WONDERFUL!!!!!!!!!!!!!! They taste great, have an amazing price & are packaged in clear plastic so you can see what the ham looks like as opposed to the more expensive ones at other stores that are in foil and tend to be really fatty.

I know what you're saying. I tried a frozen package of barbecue ribs and a ground sausage roll a few years ago. Well my family really didn't like the ribs and the sausage was all grease. I have been cautious ever since. I love Aldi's but I have stayed away from the meat. Maybe I will try again after reading some of these posts. Spiral ham seems to be a hit.

Bought the frozen boneless skinless chicken breasts last week, just as good as any other brand IMO.
I agree, the ground beef is different, odd texture but okay to use in casseroles.
We tried the chorizo, it was okay.. more greasy than other brands we have tried and we definitely could have used the spicy variety, mild didn't have enough kick.

mmm, thanks for the posts.. now I need to get the spiral ham! It sounds YUMMY!

I tried their light and fit ground beef for the first time last week. We really liked it a lot so I won't purchase ground beef from the grocery store anymore. Those of you that aren't happy with their ground beef are you buying the lower mix of meat or the light and fit variety? I forgot to pick up a bag of chicken breasts to try so I'll have to remember for my next visit.
