Before I entered Aldi's today, I was pleased because my cart was free! Then, after shopping, I was even more pleased when I got a quarter back for the cart!

It doesn't take much to make this couponer happy.

I have gotten one of those FREE carts too!~ Thanks for sharing, makes you wonder why they would take the time to bring the cart back up to the store and then not take their quarter with them. Any extra .25 makes me happy too!

One day as I was walking into the store there was a woman that was fishing around trying to find a quarter when she realized she had to pay. She was on her way up to the checkout to get change. I gladly gave her a quarter with a smile - she was so thankful!

A few weeks later someone handed off their cart to me before turning it in and waved me off when I tried to hand them my quarter. My RAOK was returned to me!

It was a regular thing for my roommate and I to leave the cart with a quarter in it. It really is one of those simple joys knowing that you may have just made somebody's day by leaving behind a quarter. It was a regular thing for us to be down to our last pennies to buy bread, so when we had the chance, we gave what we could...even if it wasn't much.

Cadnil just proved that leaving that quarter does indeed work.

I love finding a "free" cart when I go to Aldi's. I look for them specifically. I also frequently give people my quarter in exchange for other coins so they don't have to go to the cashier.

I have only found a free cart once! It really makes me wonder why walmart doesnt do the same thing , they wouldnt need to pay the cart people out there seating to death or freezeing to death! They could be inside where the are need to carry out customers big packages!

Same thing happened to me the other day. Found a free cart but donated it to the mom struggling to hold a baby carrier rather than turn it back in for the quarter. I have been known to leave them when the kids were babies because it wasn't worth the quarter to haul that carrier with a 20 lb baby back from the cart return. It is a nice gesture for a quarter!

I always leave my cart out for someone else. I like to think that maybe someone who really needed that $0.25 got it. I remember when I was poor (well more poor then I am now!) and couldn't afford even a quarter for a cart! I would hold my groceries in a box while trying to control my toddler. It was horrible!

If someone is around I will give them my cart when we do shop at Aldies... I have had people do the same very sweet !

I always offer my cart to folks approaching the store so they don't have to get it themselves. There's something very special about the smile that comes from older folks who appreciate any kindness shown. It makes me feel good to know I helped them out.

I used to try to do this in Germany. The germans will not do that! You could be standing next to them with a 50 euro cent coin to go in while they are pushing it up and they will just keep going and shake their heads. I think I freaked them out a bit!

I have gotten a Free cart a couple of times. And I always try to pass mine on. I think I have such a savings there I do not mind giving up the .25 it costs.
