Does anyone out there NOT experience an issue when using an IP at Albertsons? I am getting so frustrated at Albies. Safeway doesnt even blink at me when I use an IP, but Safeway also NEVER doubles here either. My choices for groceries here are only Albies and Safeway (I will NOT go to walmart unless forced to and Id rather rip my own eyes out with an IP then use coupons at walmart) Two different Albies in town. one nice one and one so-so older one. EVERY single time I have an IP it is a matter of national security. First time it was "get so and so to check this Q out" after of course the cashier stared at it for 2 minutes. Second time it was asking the other cashier if it could be used and then not knowing how to enter it because it wouldnt scan (my other issue with Albies, the danged IPs wont scan there but scan at everyother stinking store including the blessed walmart, cvs, wags, safeway). And it doesnt matter which cashier I use. The younger college age boys, the older cranky women, the blond teenybopper girl with the orange tan. Sure if I was using a HIGH dollar IP, fine, go get the secret service to okay it. but come on, you only double up to a dollar and only if I have the magic doubler Q, Im not using the HIGH Qs. And I print in color, and NOT in draft. ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]()

My store is great about them. Also, they usually scan well so no need to key in the numbers.

Does your printer use a lot of ink? The only thing I have found is my home printer uses a lot of ink so sometimes they don't scan because the barcode is a little blurred. I changed to grayscale and they work a lot better.

That's a GREAT tip. I never thought of that. The same thing happens to me all the time. The black barcode lines are so thick they are a bit blurry. I'll give this a try!

An Albies run which I was not planning on doing because I have not been home and did not have time to plan an attack. Here what are basically coupons that I can use on anything Walgreens,I will probably get diapers with my OOP at Albies. That is with that cost added in Object Oriented Programing.

I haven't had any problems at mine. I'm also in MT. Also, I noticed they have a link to printable smartsource coupons on their web site now. If they offer printable coupons there is no reason they should have a problem taking them. You might want to take it up with a manager or call corporate. |

I've had a few issues with using IPs at Albertson's. Especially if the IP is for a free item or more than the cost of the item. I asked if they could just manually lower the value of the coupon to equal the cost of the item, but they still said no. In general, I try to use all my coupons at Kroger because they accept all my coupons and I get reward points on my purchase before coupons are applied.

The only problems I had were before I got a new printer. They scanned but there was one lady who always questioned them because of the quality. I learned to just avoid her. On the other hand, I had an Albies checker try to tell me that a $3 wyb $10 discount didn't come up because it was a precaution because I had used internet printables. Huh? They weren't even for the items on the promo! Flat ridiculous. |

Try going to the same checker each time and develop some sort of rapport with him/her by making small talk. At least that's what dr. oz would say

I've never had an issue, but mine have always scanned. ITA with the pp about talking to a manager. Albertsons.com has a link to coupons.com so anything printed from that site should be accepted without question. I went today and actually saw the Store Director checking so I purposely got in his line. He didn't question any of my coupons (I only bought 16 items and had a coupon for every single one, 7 of them IP) and even made a comment about what great deals I got! FYI, I work at a competitor grocery store and our IP coupon policy is to NOT take anything that doesn't scan. Also, it is in our policy to not take an IP for over half the value of an item and free items are completely out of the question. HTH! |

My checker eyeballed each coupon to make sure the numbers were different, but since they were legitimately printed from coupons.com linked here at AFC, they were fine. I print b/w on draft. |

I have not had any real problems. The other day the IP would not scan and the cashier asked another cashier, and she said to check with mgr cause she thought that it if did not scan then they weren't supposed to take it. Mgr said yes...and then she manually entered all the IPs that did not scan. But, I had a long talk with the mgr and our store is VERY coupon friendly. I did tell her about the cashier having to ask, and she said it was looking like a new policy for all Albies. Albies is really the only store (safeway, Fred meyer, albertson's and walmart) that are truly coupon friendly, so the occasional "having to ask" is much easier to deal with than our safeway and the dreaded walmart!

It seems to depend on the checker. There is one checker who no matter if it is an IP or manf. she checks over every little thing on each item. I try not to go to her line any more. Of course the last 5 time I have been there she wasthe only checker. For the most part if they scan they have no problem. But they told me they will not do free item coupons. if the coupon says bogo they will but if it just says free with no other purchase they will not honor it. But I hav found many deals with manuf., blinkies, peelies, and IP and the doubles fromthe add that I get tons free there. No kidding I have a reciept from last week when I bught 4 boxes of cheese it cracker and my total was zero. Not to bad. |
