I only enter my savings for CVS and Kroger because them are the ones that tell me quite plainly how much I saved. To keep track of everything would be too confusing for me!

I have just been using the total savings at the bottoms of the receipts. I know that I have saved MORE than that, 'cause some stores don't put the real total down there. So my true savings are higher, but I have the paper trail to back up what I have posted. KWIM?

I think we all do it different ways. I wanted to see how much I saved by doing coupons and I know I wouldn't be doing coupons without sales, so I usually track my total saved as sale and coupon discounts. I used to track them seperately, but it got to be a pain to break it down b/c some store receipts are just annoying. Now I just lump it altogether where I record it.

I started using more restaurant coupons b/c I was finding links to them here and it became pretty normal for us to do a coupon hunt before deciding where to go out to eat, so I even include my restaurant coupon savings.

ok so does anyone have a spreadsheet they use to track savings? I am trying to find the most effective way and easiest way do it. I know that is I use the bottom of the reciept I still save more then it says I think

I don't have a spreadsheet only b/c I know I would lose the receipts before I sat down at the computer to enter them. What helps me is to track it in a notebook the same day I shopped. Usually as soon as I get home. It's easier to remember the details that way. I am sure others will have spreadsheets to share, but if I ever did start the spreadsheet method, I would still have to do it the same day. Interpreting the receipt later is a pain.

Talk about some motivation ladies and gentlemen! I see some very impressive numbers and only hope to reach such status someday. I have only been keeping up with my savings for 2 months and shocked how fast it adds up!!! AFC rocks!!

I have a spreadsheet. In my previous job, I did a lot of stats work in pivot tables, so they are second nature to me now. I set up the spreadsheet when I started couponing 6 weeks ago to track our savings. It took a lot of fiddling to get a format I'm happy with, but I finally got there. I can track by particular store, type of store (grocery, drugstore, etc), store ad savings, coupon savings, etc. Lots of fun to see the savings add up!

I have one question; as a new member do I tally my AFC total savings since joining, or should I tally up all my saings since Jan. 1. I have kept all receipts. What to do and maintain fair play?

Cool! I just added up a huge stack of receipts yesterday/last night while waiting on Old Navy Weekly to refresh! I've kept my records accurate from the beginning of the year. I wish they would add one more slot to the area where you write out your savings... as it seems many of us have totals of $10,000.00 or more!
