Hi, I just joined and no nothing about this. I retired a few months ago and now discovered my grocerier bill is my largest bill I have. I am married, no children, but I have 2 dogs and 3 cats. My grocery bill averages $900.00 a month. I have never used coupons before, but have read where people have cut their bill in half or better doing so. I would love to be able to do this, if I only knew how? How long does it take to get the hang of this and how much time comsumming is it? I would appreciate all the help I could get on this matter. How do I start, printing and cutting coupons but what else? I have resd about making a list of groceries I buy and pricing them, also heard of trading coupons, also a wish list where do I do all of this. This whole process seems very comp;icated to me. We shop at Walmart one week and Publics the next some times Winn Dixie. The main reason we use Walmart is we buy 7 cases of diet coke every two weeks and they usually have the best price either 5 or 6 dollars a case. Please Help

Welcome to couponing. It can be very time consuming but part of that is just the learning curve. I have been hard core couponing for roughly 2 years. I have learned a lot and now usually only pay about 40 to 50% of the price of my overall grocery bill. It could be lower but we buy a lot of produce and health food and it's easier in general to buy cheaper food free ( i.e. pop tarts, bagel bites, frozen pizza etc. ) also we don't have grocery stores that double around me. I spent easily about 5 hours a week for many many weeks when I started and then went down to about 3 hours a week. Allmost all of that has been just learning... how to stack Q's with store Q's and how to find the coupons. Once I found out how my stores worked and how to stack and how to watch cycles and how to price book them I started trading and buying multiple inserts a week which opens up a whole new world of couponing. Than I had to figure out a fililng system that worked for me. Basically couponing is a work in progress... don't feel overwhelmed it's easy to do. There is a lot to learn but if you just keep reading posts and surfing all the internet coupon printable sites etc. you will start getting lower and lower oop (out of pocket prices) and a larger stockpile. Some weeks now have good sales and I will spend several hours but usually it's only about 2 hours a week and there is the social aspect of it as well. |

![]() You'll find great resources on this website, AFC is the best! I would search the forums for Walmart and your local grocery stores to find the best deals. Best of luck!

Thanks for the advice I am spending alot more than 2 to 3 hours a week. I spent between 15 to 20 hours on the computer this week looking for coupons to print and reading all I could find about couponing. Maybe when I learn more and get a good stock of coupons and know where all to go to get them I will spend less time. Thanks again for the advice.
