Okay, did any of you feel anxiety the first time you started couponing? This is my second day purposefully using coupons with a sale and I feel so nervous when checking out. I don't want the register to beep or the cashier to deny my coupon because I didn't read the fine print etc. Is it just me or did everyone else feel this way? Plus, I feel like some of the store workers regard me suspiciously when I use my coupons. Why for the life of me some people look down on coupons is beyond me. After living 33 years, I've finally realized that this is money in my pocket! How I ever paid full price for anything is beyond me! I just wanted to know if others felt the same way I do. I guess I really have to work on my confidence when shopping. I hate confrontations so I guess that's why this is even more nerve-wracking for me. Any ideas, suggestions, comments? Thanks all! I think with time, when you KNOW that you're using the right coupons, you feel more confident firmly, yet in a friendly way standing your ground. I'm sure it will come with time, this website helps a lot, b/c there is no discussion of improper coupon use. Good luck!

I sure do - feel like that alot! Not alot of folks around here in my area use coupons; but as long as you know you're using them the right way they're is nothing to worry about. Keep your eyes on stuff as it rings up, and if they have an issue with the coupon I just have them take the item off altogether. Reading fine print is important...can't say how many times I didnt read fine print and found myself in a bind. But the folks on AFC will help you as much as possible, dont be scared! You're saving money, and that's not a crime!

I think you're right. I'm so nervous and want to know everything right this instant because I feel like I've been TOTALLY missing out, but I know it'll come in time. Thanks for the response!

It is easier once you get to know your cashiers and they learn that you always use coupons legitmately.

| Ha! That's the thing! I know it's not a crime, but other people look at you like it is! I think it's because they couldn't possibly fathom that one could buy 10 boxes of cereal cheaply because of coupons. I'm so glad I got on the coupon train. Woo hoo!

I use to feel that way when I first started using coupns. Then I just learned to relax knowing that I was using them the right way and saving my family money.

| This is good to know. It's kind of like earning respect since we're all influenced to be suspicious anyway...well not everyone, but you know what I mean.

I recently started using coupons and I was very nervous. I sure hope it gets better with time though! However, I think the wonderful feeling of how much I saved was worth it.

![]() I still get nervous at times, and I've been using coupons for a long time. The only time I'm truly confident is when I can find my regular cashiers. The nerves only exist because of past confrontations. Being told I can't use such and such coupon, or I can only buy so many if using coupons etc. I really get the evil eye when I have a coupon for a Free. (Im going to stress though, that I have great experiences 8 out of 10 times! No evil eyes for those 8 great shopping trips ) I also get nervous when coupons beep, because if I don't go w/my regular cashiers, it turns into an ordeal. The funny thing is, the rudest people about my coupon usage are those standing in line and not the cashiers. I try to hold my coupons up or make a show of looking through them so if people are impatient they can see I've got a million coupons and will go to another line.

I'm gettting through my last year of college so I'm working 2 jobs....one at Bath and Body Works...we get customers in there all the time asking if they can double/triple up on coupons, they question our prices when we ring items up, they study the slip when we hand it to them...and even though I see all this, I still feel nervous using coupons on my own too! ha!
