Mods...I didn't know if I should post here or FSOT.... When trading q's, what is considered "fair market value"? I realize this varies on how desparate the party is to receive it, but for a normal trade, where is a good place to start? I don't want to "overprice" my trades, but I also don't want to be steamrolled. Thanks!

Generally, most people trade for about 5-10% of face value, depending on the coupon. Others, like myself, may not worry about value at all as long as both parties get what they need. Just remember that you are never obligated to trade and can always politely turn down an offer you feel is unfair. Most people tend to be fairly easy to trade with on here.

I've wondered this too and appreciate your posting. I decided to go with equal amounts if trading coupons. So if I'm looking for 10 $2 off coupons, I'd expect to have to send $20 worth of coupons that the other person is looking for. Likewise, if I'm offering that amount in coupons in a FSOT, I'd expect to receive that amount in trade. I'm not sure how others do it. When trading for stamps or $$, I try to guestimate how much is fair. |
