Just joined this wonderful site recently; have been reading a ton & learning so much. I've learned about a million things about q's & their uses that I didn't know; learned about trades; learned about different stores; etc. Asked a number of questions & got very helpful answers.

I can figure out most of the abbreviations; but there's one thing I cannot figure out!!

What is it when someone types "bump"??

I apologize if this explanation is listed somewhere, but I looked all over & couldn't find it. Thought it might be in "Acronyms & Abbreviations" but it wasn't (probably because it's not either! )!

Okay! Second thing is really stupid (like I said, I have asked all the important questions previously); this one is dumb, so don't laugh, but where does everyone get the cute little "characters" (like the smiles, but cuter)?

They are too cute!! I especially think my grandchildren would enjoy them as well!
My favorites are the one with the little figure rolling on his side laughing, & the little cheerleaders; but any would be cute! (I can get the pink high kicking elephant! )

when we bump, its so the post goes to front page again, and the second the little smiley faces are from the Go advanced button and then when the little faces are on the side of the screen there is a button that says more, click that and there are tons of different ones.

I have to add one more thing to what Carmended said - after you click More on the Smilies, there is a drop-down list at the top. It took me awhile to figure that out when I first joined. I could still only see the defaults until I realized the drop-down list.

I finally figured out what "bump" meant when I wanted an old post to be seen more; suddenly a light bulb went on in my head!

Thanks, Donna! My Father, who was a very wise man, always said the same thing; that no question is ever stupid; & also that you shouldn't be afraid to ask a question. (Let's just say the one asking about the action smilies was a little embarassing! ;o) Thanks again!

All you have to do to bump a thread back to the top of the new posts is to post something in that thread. The word bump or a bump smilie both work for this purpose.

ETA: There may be restrictions on how often you can bump your own FSOT or Auction post, be sure to read the rules of those 2 sub forums.
