I am new to the site and am not sure exactly how it works can you possibly explain it to me in simple terms?

I think there is too much here to explain in simple terms in one post!

You can

• trade coupons
• learn what is on sale at more stores than you ever knew existed
• learn what coupons are in the world to match up with those sale items
• Look at what other people bought and what coupons they used
• Learn how to organize your coupons
• Donate expired coupons
• Find coupons to print out via the links in the Printable coupon database
• Make friends
• chat about coupons
• chat about every other topic under the sun.
• You can read blogs, and/or make your own blog.
• Be entertained

You will learn how to save money here!

I am looking for help in this too, I keep seeing everyone talk about what you CAN do on this site but not HOW to do it, and the drop down menu at the tool bar is not helpful. I have no idea what most of it means. Plus I spent over an hour one day clicking on coupons in the "printable coupons" page only to find out they aren't actually printable coupons! Not on this site anyway, I'm still not sure what they are but my only options were to put them in categories....totally frustrating!

The best place to start (in my opinion) is to make a wishlist so others know what coupons you are looking for. Make a list of items you buy on a regular basis and post it on the wishlists forum: http://www.afullcup.com/forums/wishlists/

Next, after you post your wishlists copy the link (in the address bar). Go to your profile (see the blue bar at the top of the screen, then click on "view my profile". Then click on "About me" and go down to "My AFC webpages" and find "wishlist" and click the pencil to edit. Paste the link to your wishlist there. Now, EVERYTIME you make a post, under your name people can see the link for your wishlists.
This makes it SO much easier because anyone can just look at your wishlist and know what coupons you are looking for, which makes trading a breeze. Then, look at other peoples wishlists to know what they are looking for and if you would like to trade with them. I hope that all made sense.
There are a million ways to use this site but so far that is my favorite because i am able to get coupons for almost all the things on my grocery list, which is the quickest way to cut my spending.

Another tip I just learned is to mouse over "My profile" (on the blue bar) and go down to "manage stores" and you can hide all of the stores that are not in your area so when you are reading all the new posts you wont see all those.

I think I know what you're talking about. But just in case, to start from the beginning. Go up to the Coupons link and click on Printable Coupons.


Let's say you want a coupon for the 409 Cleaner thing. Click on the name of the coupon, which is a link. (Don't click the check box)


After clicking it, a new tab should pop up with a page like this:


If you already have the coupon printer on your computer, the coupons should print. If you don't, when you click Print Coupons, it will go into set up and then print them once you've set it up.

Hi!! Welcome to AFC! You're going to love it here! My best advice is to read read read!! You can learn so much! Yes, you will spend quite a bit of time here! Take that time and do it! If you factor in how much money you're going to save by learning and reading on here than you are actually going to paid a lot of money for the time you spend here!

I'll share with you what was shared with me when I first joined! Thanks to "oldtingrl" !

Your Username ~ when you click it..it'll take you to your personal profile page.

Settings ~ when you click this..it'll take you to the page where you're thank you's and reps are listed. It also gives you access to your control panel, networking, settings & options, private messages, subscribed threads, moderation, miscellaneous, your notepad, and blog.

Inbox ~ this takes you to your Private Message page (this is basically the AFC version of in-house email).

Update (this only appears when you have a new message in your Inbox or on your profile page) ~ it will have a number next to it too. This will allow you see how many messages you have.

Logout ~ pretty obvious what this one does.

At the bottom of every page, on the left hand side you will find "Acronyms and Terms used here". If you see a term or abbreviation you are not sure about, you can click that and it will help you find what you need to know.

To see all the new chatter that is coming in for all the forums, you can click "Forum" (this is found at the top of the page, on the left-hand side). When you click this, a little box will scroll down and give you a little list of items to choose from. Click "New Posts" and it will show all the newest threads for the forums as they are submitted.

Giving/Receiving "Thanks" or "Rep" is a fun feature here at AFC. If you see a post that has inspired you, helped you, or given you a moment of pause , you can click the "Thanks" button (located at the bottom of each post; it's blue with a little gold arrow picture) this will insert your username at the bottom of their post. This lets them know you appreciate their post. OR If you would like, you can click the "Rep" button (located at the bottom of each post; it's blue with a + sign picture). When clicking this you're given the opportunity to leave a small comment, telling the poster what you appreciate. They're both a way to show your appreciation, but you can only do one or the other..not both. So, when you see someone's username listed under your post..you'll know you've been "Thank'd" and your post is much appreciated.

Thanks for saying this, I was feeling the same way, really confused. This thread is very helpful, though. I'm going to go over everyone's tips. At the moment, I'm trying to figure out how to trade coupons. In the meantime, I'm having fun posting on the forums!

To trade coupons, just post in the ISO forum what you are looking for. People will PM you and ask what you have to trade with and you can set something up.

I felt the same way at first. You will just need to spend several hours "playing around" with the site and reading. This is how i figured things out. I have been a member since march and i am still learning new features and things i didn't know existed. Good luck! Remember to ask questions if you don't know, we have all been in your position!
