Hi newbies! This is the best site EVER! You will learn so much about saving money, and meet some REALLY fantastic people! I feel so lucky with all the help and generosity I have received in the five weeks I have belonged!

Currently AFC is revamping the buddy and fairy programs. I posted an offer to become a buddy, and was given some advice to post here to help some newbies.

If you are new and need help creating your wishlist, FSOT or ISO list, moving around in the site, or trading, I would be happy to help! I also have a lot of coupons and may be able to help you get started with some that you may need that I may have. I can take on about 3 newbies at a time. Send me a pm or post a reply!

How do I get coupons to print from the coupon box?

Hi Melissa! To be perfectly honest, I don't use the coupon box. I add coupons I am in search of to my ISO list and print them when I am able to. When I am printing coupons, I simply go to the "printable coupon list" to look for new coupons that have been put in the data base, or you can search specifically by item/brand you are looking for.

If I am not mistaken, the coupon box is a new tool that I have not yet familiarized myself with sorry if this is not a great answer!

Well, welcome to AFC! I have found that all of the "chatty" sites on the internet use acronyms and it is like learning a foreign language. My kids do it to me in text all the time as well. Here is a link that should help you out:

Hello JCK88...Yes the acronyms are another language all together! Chellemorty is right, look on that link, and it will help a lot. What ever question you have, just look in the forum and there is a subject thread for all of them! I have only been on here a month and am VERY addicted. There is such a sense of wanting to help each other! Because the fairy/buddy program is being revamped and I've received so much help from other gals like me that just want us all to do well, I would be happy to send you a potluck of Qs if you need help getting started. The best thing to do, if you have not, is create your wishlist and your ISO list. This will give everyone an idea of what you are looking for. Post your wishlist in the wishlist forum. MANY people go there and reply to you stating that they have what you are looking for and can trade with you.

When you see the savings start to add up, you will want to be on this site EVERYDAY!

Hey Michele!

Just signed up yesterday.....finally had to...this economy has forced me out of mortgage business till the banks start letting go of all that bailout money....anyway....I was in WinnDixie about 2 weeks back and saw a Coupon Diva....she had about $200+ of groceries and wound up paying less than $20.....I applauded her! I was a little annoyed being behind her but boy did she kick some major butt! So I figured there was some sort of forum and oila'....here I am!

So....what is step one....I definitely want some free stuff.....I am a single mom of 2 boys, 2 dogs, 5 cats and 2 turtles......so we consume a bunch....I would love a mentor......you game?

Help! I'm new and I don't even know what a thread is during the 'Introduce yourself part of the welcome Mat' process. I knew I can't afford to spend more than $30-to $40 at one time, so how can I come out ahead of the grocery game? I read the stories of couponing geniuses but they go in the store armed with a checkbook or change purse loaded for bear. I go in a grocery store, in Kentucky on a small measley budget of a $150.00- AND THIS IS TO LAST ME FOR THE ENTIRE MONTH! - No Kidding. My mom is elderly, I live/take care of her and she has her own budget- Not much more than I do after bills.
So, We don't eat Steak often, and I go a couple months before I can buy certain cleaning supplies That Really Work Well.
Anyway, any advice or help through couponing ideas and Where to find them would be greatly appreciated. Thank You., Connie. AKA: Conniedog

I'm a newbie to this site and while at first the navigation was pretty hard for me, messing around with it for a few minutes, I'm starting to catch on. I thankfully came across this thread and printed off the Acronyms & Abbreviations list so that's already helping. Cuz I didn't know what anything meant there at first. I am definitely interested in having someone with a little more experience help me out. Is anyone interested or know anyone who'd be able to help?

I am hoping you can help me figure out how to use this site. I found coupons, checked the box to the right but it keeps telling me that I haven't chosen any coupons to print. I was signed in when trying to do this task. Thank you for any help you can give me. Tanya

Hi everybody! Tanya - asking about printables. Click on the "coupon database" and select printable coupons. When you see a coupon you want to print, click on the bolded blue description. This will take you to the link of where to print the coupon. If you are in the coupon database of ALL coupons, then ones that are not printable, you will want to put a check in the box and at the bottom of the page select - in the drop down box - add to ISO list. You will need to do this page by page.

One of the first things you should all do is create your wishlist...do this in the forum under "wishlist" First, think of all the things you normally buy in your household. Divide your list into categories...beverages, dairy, frozen, canned, condiments, health/beauty, household...TP, paper towels, laundry, cleaning, etc. anyone who views your wishlist will have a better idea of what you are looking for. This is the BEST site ever. Everyone here is so helpful and generous. Feel free to pm me if you have any specific questions.

What is your specific need? Do you need help making a wishlist? Do you need help entering coupons into your ISO list? Have you used coupons before coming to this site? I am relatively new to couponing and this site, but once you are committed and get the hang of it, your savings will add up quickly! It did for me and I quickly learned what stores are happy you are shopping there, even with Qs and what stores sigh and frown when you hand them your wad of Qs!

As always, any question you have can be answered in forums under newbies. If you are looking to get started receiving coupons or are wanting to trade, I will be happy to help, as well as helping with wishlists, etc. This is a great site. It is a very resourceful tool for saving money!
