Hello...I would LOVE some help getting started! I have NO idea how any of this works, and would really like to save money, and know that the best way to do this is by coupons, etc...but I have no idea what to do to get started! Any advise or info you could share would be GREATLY appreciated!

Aspooket, what grocery stores do you shop at?
I would recommend starting at the forums of the stores you shop at. You don't have to start off reading all of them, just the store you shop at most.

Just signed up today. I am a 43 year old man, married for 23 years and have two children - son 18 and attends LSU and a daughter, 13. I joined the grocery game a couple of months ago am I am having so much fun. I saw this sight in the newspaper and joined today. Trying to navigate thru the sight.

Just joined the group! I've been clipping coupons for a while, but don't feel like I'm taking advantage of all of the saving that are out there. I've started putting together a notebook of all of my coupons- a little more organized and now I just need a little help getting started on the next step.

Just popping in to help out if I can.

For the newbies- the blue bar at the top of the page is really your key to navigating the site.

The "Forum" bar: If you click just on "Forum" it will take you to the big list of all the categories at AFC. If you only shop at one or two stores that's your shortcut to getting to the posts about those specific stores. Or on the pull-down, you can click on "New Posts" or "Todays Posts" (that's what I usually do) and it pulls up the current stuff from all the categories. That's a good way to just get a feel of the board.

The "Coupon" bar: The pull-down includes the Coupon Database. This is a list of all the coupons we've spotted. You can narrow your search to just Internet Printables if that's what you're looking for. You will get linked to a post here at AFC and that will lead you to the coupon.

Under "Tools" there is a "Coupon Box" option. This lets you stick to the side the coupons you're interested in. You'll still need to click on the individual links to get to the coupons, this is just your master list of things you want to print out or keep an eye on.

We do have "Chat" but most of the time when I come here it says "0" which means nobody is in there. If you catch someone in Chat, go for it! You just have to click on the "Chat" in the blue bar and it'll hook you up.

"My Profile" has the stuff to customize your account. I find the "find my posts" option very handy as I tend to post and then forget where I was.

That's the very basics, there's a ton more stuff but that should get you started.

When I first joined I just spent a lot of time reading reading reading, usually clicking on "Today's Posts" under the "Forum" tab. To get a feel for the board and where to find posts and what sorts of things were going on.

There are specific forums for the FSOT (for sale or trade), RAOK (random act of kindness, to give away coupons), auctions... if you're reading Today's Posts you'll see some. At some point you'll also want to make a Wish List http://www.afullcup.com/forums/wishlists/.

Hope that helps a little! Once you hang around for a little while and read posts, you get it all figured out pretty quick.

I just found this site and am so excited about the possibilites of saving money, especially these days with the economy, but I have to tell you I was instantly overwhelmed. I dont understand the lingo and don't really know where to start. I welcome and appreciate any help.

The "thanks" button.

At the bottom of each and every post there is a "thanks" button. If the post has been helpful to you, click on it!

If someone thinks your post has been helpful, and they click on "thanks", you will see at the top right of your screen "reputations" with a number. If you click on it, it will take you to a page where you can view what thread the "thanks" came from and can link over to that thread.

It's also a really good way to let another member know you've posted a reply to their post. The "thanks" really fly around here, and it's nice to see that your post has helped someone!
