| How do I avoid all the spam?
When you are in the zone for getting coupons/deals, often you get on some spam lists. How in the world can I avoid that? (I would rather not have to open another email account for all that stuff.) |

I have a junk email address that I only use for coupon sites. It doesn't get rid of the spam but keeps it out of my real address. HTH!

My spam filter dumps a lot of it for me, but sometimes it's just a matter of unsubscribing once. My delete button is my friend

Your best bet = open a yahoo or hotmail or gmail account just for those coupon/freebie requests. You don't need to check it daily -- usually only MONTHLY to make sure the acct is not deleted. |

I have used my main e-mail account to order freebies and samples with for years without a spam problem. It is really simple - if it looks fake don't request the item. 99.9% of the spamming sites have a lot of Google ads on their pages. Just a rule of thumb I use and it has worked great for me. Good Luck.

I have a junk email account as well and it seems to work for me. I was wondering about the coupon tookbars, do they create spam or junk on your computer?

I agree with Lynda. I have three gmail accounts -- one for real e-mail and bills, one for accounts that I really want to be included in, and one for freebies and coupons. Gmail really does a good job blocking the spam and it's very easy to select the one's that do slip through and add them to the spam. They won't come back.

Do you use gmail? There are options to create folders for whatever categories you choose to organize your emails into. If you do this, there's also an option for emails from a specific email address to skip your inbox and go right into that folder, that way they don't clutter your inbox. I'm not sure if other email providers do this, but I don't think Yahoo does. I haven't found it yet at least.
