| So what are you doing with all of the pillsbury breads you are buying?? Taco pics #10
I thought it would be fun to post some favorite recipes for Pillsbury stuff since it is such a good deal this week. My kids favorite thing I make with crescent rolls are a taco bake. 2 pkgs crescent rolls 1 lb ground meat pkg of fav. shredded cheese ( I use cheddar/jack) Taco seasoning pouch anything you put on a taco! In a pan make meat according to taco seasoning pouch, set aside. In a rectangular pan, one crescent rolls so they line the pan, one point should be outside the pan and hanging over the side of your dish. the triangles may overlap a bit and there will be a small area in the center that has no dough. Take taco meat and spoon around the pan, then sprinkle with cheese. Then take the pieces of dough that are hanging over the pan and flip it over the meat/ cheese to make a roll. Bake at 350 until lightly browned, about 15-20 mins. serve with what ever topping you like, salsa, sour cream, etc...! So what do you make???

Great post, since I just realized these suckers expire in about two months!! Some I will probably make as is and put out at work around Thanksgiving. Things are so bad there in this economy that we get excited when any food is put out. For me and the DH, I'll make pizza rolls... if I can find a good deal on pizza sauce! Ingredients 1 (8 ounce) package refrigerated crescent dinner rolls 3/4 cup chopped low-fat pepperoni 8 teaspoons pizza sauce or spaghetti sauce 5 teaspoons warmed low-fat cream cheese 2 teaspoons oregano 1 teaspoon chopped garlic 1 1/2 cups shredded lowfat mozzarella cheese mushroom or bell pepper or ground beef, etc, to taste (I don't add anything extra, and I've done it both without cream cheese and pepperoni) Directions Preheat oven to 375°F. Unroll dough into 4 long rectangles. Press diagonal perforations firmly to seal. Spread warmed cream cheese evenly on dough. Spread pizza sauce evenly on top of cream cheese. Add oregano and garlic spreading evenly over all. Sprinkle chopped pepperoni over all. Add any extra ingredients you would like. Sprinkle with mozzarella cheese. Roll up each rectangle starting at the shortest side, press and seal firmly. Cut each of the 4 rolls into 5 slices to make 20 slices. Spray cookie sheet or muffin tins with non-stick cooking spray. Place cut side down on sprayed cookie sheet or muffin tins. Careful, they can be sticky! Bake 15-20 minutes or until golden brown. Remove from cookie sheet. Can be served warm or cooled and placed in the freezer.

OP--that taco bake sounds yummy--we love taco's here. Do you take the entire can of crescent rolls and spread it out in the pan--or both cans...I am a bit confused and I want to try this...thanks!

| I know it sounds weird...but you take each triangle and have the short side inside the baking dish and the top triangle point going up the side and hanging over the outside of the dish. Then you keep doing this with all the triangles until you go around the pan. After you put the meat and cheese on the crescent roll in the pan you take the pieces that are hanging outside of the pan and lay it over the meat/cheese forming a roll of sorts....does that make sense....I'll look for a pic on line...

Here is another 2 recipes ( I am still looking for a pic on how to make the taco roll online!) Cream Cheese pastry 2 crescent rolls 2 bricks cream cheese 1 tsp vanilla 1 cup sugar cin/sugar mix Unroll an entire pkg of crescent rolls and place in botton of 9x13 pan ( works bettter in a metal plan...never works for me in glass) In a lg bowl beat softened cream cheese, vanilla, and sugar pour on top of crescent roll in pan Top with secong pkg of crescent dough roll flat. Sprinkle liberally cin/sugar mixture and bake at 350' about 30 mins Banana puffs take Pillsbury grands biscuits and roll flat. take about a 1/3 of a banana and put in center. wrap gough fully around banana. Place top of biscuit into cin/sugar mixture and place on a baking sheet seam side down. Bake in a 350 oven about 13-15 mins. It will puff up. serve warm with vanilla ice cream and choc syrup or caramel...so yummy!!

I like to push the biscuits into muffin tins and fill them up with pulled pork bbq and top with cheese... they only take the time it says on the can. My husband LOVES these OR I wrap the biscuits around hot dogs. Like the biscuits around them instead of the cresant rolls OR I flatten the biscuits and make mini pizzas with them OR I make a warm strawberry sauce and put that onto of the biscuits for a VERY yummy breakfast |

These pics are from a friend. I put cheese on before I close the crescent dough, she doesn't because her kids do not like cheese. Hope this helps! ![]() ![]()

| I leave mine open, but she just put extra triangles from the crescent dough in the center of the pan so the bottom was covered. It can be done either way!!

Roast beef roll: I roll out the pizza dough and lay roast beef slices and swiss (or mozzarella) cheese. You can also add bell pepper and onions. Roll it up into a log and bake it. Taste alot like a philly steak sandwich. |

| This sounds great! Would you suggest browning the onions first?

Yes, I forgot to mention that b/c I don't always put the onion and peppers on mine. Even when I do, I just put them on one side - hubby's side.

Here's my favorite recipe for stromboli, using Pillsbury pizza dough: Spray a baking sheet with cooking spray. Lay out the pizza dough. On one side, layer mozzarella cheese, salami, grated parmesan, diced tomatoes (canned/drained works fine), and italian seasoning. Do a second layer of each. Fold the other half of the dough over and pinch the edges to seal. Spray the top lightly with cooking spray and sprinkle with parmesan cheese and italian seasoning. Bake according to the dough directions. I serve w/heated pasta sauce on the side for dipping. We're actually having this tonight. I use Sargento sliced mozzarella b/c it's easier and doesn't pile up too high.

OHHHH..thanks so much for the pictures...now I get it! I was confused about the middle part--I did not realize that you were leaving the middle empty--I couldn't figure out how the triangles filled up the whole pan and still hung over the sides! Now I see thanks so much...can't wait to try this one out! Yummy!

We tried it and loved it, too! I chopped up a green pepper and an onion and threw that in and just layered it all instead of spooning it, so it was more like a casserole. Was like winterized tacos! Yummy!
