| Acme Double Q policy
I was shopping today and they are advertising double q's up to 1.98. Meaning they will double any coupon up to 99 cents ( so a .75 q would be $1.50) but they will not double a $1 q to $1.98. Is that how it is working for others?? I didn't want to argue with the lady too much because she entered a bunch of $2.50 q's on items that were less then $2 and didn't adjust. thanks for any input!

Right, that's how their policy works. Although I really wish they doubled $1 coupons because so often that's what I find in the paper! I've noticed that the Philadelphia Inquirer tends to have better coupons than the Burlington County times. I recently placed several orders with coupon clippers to purchase lower value coupons ie 75 cents off Hormel Completes so the next time they are on sale for $2 after doubling I can buy them for 50 cents each. My SO likes them (I don't care for them) and at 50 cents a hit I can stock up until the next 2 for $4.00 sale. |

I've never seen or heard of any Acme doubling any coupon having a value value over 99c. (They regularly double those.... ie: a 99c q will become $1.98) Also at all Acme's i been to, around Philly, their registers automatically double "DO NOT DOUBLE" coupons... as long as the coupon has 5 as the first digit in the barcode. As far as getting overage... that always worked for me. For example next week (beginning 7/23/09) there are things where you can get overage.. like that "Must Buy 10/$7" sale: -Poweraid bottles on sale for 70c (use .75/2 tearpad doubled = 5 cents overage/each) -McCormick Grillmates on sale for 70c (use .55/1 q doubled = 40 cents overage / each) |

It really all depends on your store. My local one is coupon natzi running the place. UP the road its much easier. Given that so many stores are only doubling a few of the same coupons and thats it... I wont complain about Acme

Acme used to only double up to $1 - that is a 0.50 coupon would become $1 off but so would a 0.75 coupon. Now this new policy is much better than their old policy and is only about a year old. One of the Acme I shop at still has a banner aobut how great their double coupon policy is.
