Don't feel stupid about being caught up in a book! Ever! 
I was the same way every time a new Harry Potter book came out, even when the last one came out and I had 2 small children to take care of. I read while nursing the baby, and stayed up all night while I should have been sleeping. And every time a new Laurell K. Hamilton book is released. Apparently I was the same way when I was a kid. My mom would take me to the bookstore at the mall, and I would buy 2-3 new books. I would read one as we were walking out of the mall and almost finish it on the 20 minute ride home!  Reading is wonderful!!!
