The fields that are not supposed to be changed should be protected to help the new users from making mistakes. If you wish to remove the protection, you can do so from the file menu at the top of the screen. Assuming you do not have Vista which is different from all the other versions, go to Tools, Protection, Unprotect Sheet in the menu bar at the top. There is no password, so the protection should discontinue at that point. Then you can do anything you want with the spreadsheet.
