about 15000. my mom gave me a budget of 10,000 (bride's family footed the bill - traditional, I suppose) but she kind of went overboard with decorations and flowers (she insisted on them, not me LOL) and it ended up costing about 15000 in the end. DH and I spent about 3500 on our honeymoon after that.
I didn't want to spend that kind of money on a wedding...I told mom that I'd rather have the money to put down on a house or something. she said there was no way she was dishing out that kind of money unless she got to enjoy herself at a wedding 
we have a huge family (I think close to 300 were invited).
