Have you tried a small infrared heater? One for small spaces, they are safe for kids and animals, the electric is minimal and you can control the temp. We have had a edenpure for & or 8 years, but I see they sell them at joblots, biglots, lowes, Home depot. Amazon has them for 500 sq ft for $77 bucks, or a compact one for 800 ft, that was $85 and came w/ a remote. Sorry about your feet and ankle, hope you heal & feel better fast.
