If you haven't done so, call the company and threaten to switch. (This doesn't always work out, so be prepared to switch.) I would say 90% or even more of the time, they will lower your monthly bill.

I just did this on my internet bill. I have my internet through verizon, and I noticed a 6.00 jump on my last bill so I called them. I said I was wondering why there was such a big jump, and they stated that my one year contract had run out, and it went back to the normal price. I told them that at&t was offering the same internet 768kbps for 14.99, and I would switch to them if they wouldn't lower my bill. After it was all said and done, I am paying less this year than I was last year for the exact same service.

I have done them same with cable. Dish usually has great packages for 29.99. and I was paying 43.00 plus tax, so I called them up and told them that Dish was offering a better package for less, and they matched the competitors price!

We are frugal here ladies, and every penny counts, even on utilities!
