My local store markdowns twice...one time the day before the sell by date first thing in the morning and then the sell by date when the meat dept. goes.
I know the schedule and I pretty much hammer it. Then I break my transactions up to submit for the no beer purchase necessary rebates (I live in NC no beer companies give money for buying meat all the time. - like off of 5.01 of beef)
2 weeks ago I got 10 dollar packages (3.5 lbs) of pork-ribs for 1.47 and I submitted 3 packages for a 5/5 rebate. I definitely would look at all supermarkets within a 15 min drive of you. I live near 8-10 stores, but I have a favorite one.
