Okay, I breastfed both my boys but switched to pumping primarily when they started biting w/ the teeth, it just hurt too much. What kind of pump do you have??
It is normal for one side to be bigger b/c she probably favored one side, at least mine did...sometimes it is as simple as a equip. thing, let's troubleshoot a little. I used a medela pump (pump in style)and the tubing can be kinked or have to be cleaned... also the part you place on your breast has a little white circle membrane, on the yellow part of the medela, if this little piece has the slightest crack or puncture it loses suction... I wish I knew what kind of pump you had??
Don't worry Momma, you can bring up your milk production. How many times a day/night are you pumping?? Is it a hand pump or a electric one that is adjustable suction? It may also be as simple as the size of the breastshield is not right for you.
I had many midnight or early morning pumpings and I had forgot to even put the membrane on after I had cleaned them. Boy did I have mommy brain and I still do sometimes, . Umm, the parts can be looked at under accessories on medelabreastfeedingsus dot com if you don't get what I am talking about, they also have lactation consultants you can email.
Your milk will be going down too b/c your baby is eating more but it shouldn't be that low. You may have to pump 3 to 4 x a day to bring it back up, but then you can cut down to 3 or 2 x. Also drinking is important but protein is extremely important...I found when I ate more greek yogurt, chicken, peanut butter etc... my milk prod. went up. Hope you post again. Wishing you luck
