CVS registers don't look at the coupons you use when they figure the ECBs you are due. The registers only look at the items on the "purchase" side of the tally.
So, if your purchase side (before your B1G1 free coupons) shows 20 SoyJoy bars then you will get credit with buying those 20 SoyJoys.
I would definitely break up the purchase because a $20 ECB is a bear to use in a single transaction. But that's just my experience...
