It sounds to me like some of the items you bought went off shelf prices and some didn't. Not sure which ones b/c I've read on other boards that the items you got are working. I do believe that any items on "knockdown" vs. "card savings" aren't working on shelf prices b/c they're just flat out ringing up on the sale prices instead of regular and then deducting. My only suggestion is to go thru self checkout so you can see the prices as they ring up and if they ring up sale vs. reg..have it voided and grab something else...so go with a few extra items in case you need them.
