Oh gosh, I'm sorry I forgot to update.

Yes, I did speak with corporate, pretty much saying what I said in the original post. The person I spoke to wasn't in charge, but promised to pass the message to the "powers that be."

Well, she must've done that immediately, because the manager of my store started trying to call me THAT DAY. He was very kind - I expressed my thoughts without sparing any punches. He said that although my cashier said this was a new policy, it actually isn't, but they had just received a message from the company to start enforcing it.

He said that the multiple doubles happen when the cashier scans the Qs too quickly. (I don't think that's right, but didn't argue it.)

He thinks that Marsh coupon policy and Walmart's are about the same. I said no, WM doesn't double, but without Marsh doubling, I can shop for less at WM, or drive out of town to Kroger. He then said he wanted to tell me 2 things that might encourage me to shop Marsh anyway:
1. They are going to try to price more competitively. I said I was glad to hear it - this might help.
2. My store is going to be remodeled this fall. (Although this will be nice, I will not shop there just for modern appearance.)

And that was about it. Sometime soon, I'm going in to purchase 2 of the same item with Qs just to see what happens. Could be interesting.

Thanks for asking how it went, and good luck with your stores!

Terri
