I e-mailed A&P yesterday to ask if they would accept IP's because I know that Pathmark does and Pathmark is owned by them. This is the response I received:

RE: Coupon Policy - Internet Coupons
Dear Ms. xxxxxxxxx,
Thank you for your recent correspondence.
While both Pathmark and A&P are owned by The Great Atlantic & Pacific Tea Company, their coupon policies are different. When The Great Atlantic & Pacific Tea Co. acquired Pathmark in December of 2007, it was currently their policy to accept Internet Coupons from their website. That policy has not been changed for Pathmark. However, all A&P locations currently do not accept internet coupons. The internet is a powerful vehicle for getting information out to people and at the same time it is also a vehicle for false information. Unfortunately, internet coupons are not accepted in our stores due to an abundance of fraudulent coupons circulating over the internet.
I know this is not the answer you want to hear at this time, but we are listening to you and other customers who are seeking alternate means of stretching their food dollars. Currently, we are working on a solution that would allow our customer's to download coupons from the internet directly to our loyalty cards electronically. This solution will benefit our Customers and at the same time safe guard our company from fraud. Additionally we have also been working hard on our pricing program and currently have well over 5,000 items on sale.
We are also currently running a promotion now through August 4, 2009 with Kraft and are accepting Kraft internet coupons that can be accessed through our website, Welcome to A&P where you'll always find exceptional Freshness, Quality and Value.
All stores do have our policies posted at the Customer Service Desk. We value you as a customer and look forward to being of service to you in the near future.
Thank you again for taking the time to contact us and for allowing us the opportunity to address your inquiry.
Always a pleasure to serve you,
Jen S.
