You are buying a gift certificate that is worth $25 of product at the restaurant. Usually they have some stipulations for using them. Like your bill must be more than $35 (without alcohol) to use the $25 gift certificate. I live in a college town and so the ones I get will often say "not redeemable on game days". Things like that. You can find the restrictions on restaurant.com where you go to purchase them. It will say when they can and can't be used.

We use them quite a bit. It's especially nice when there is a coupon code out so you can get a $25 gift certificate for $2 or $3. I haven't seen a coupon code lately but usually when there is one there will be a post in Hot Deals.
