As prep for this month's green flyer, most stores in our area did a reset of their battery and flashlight section. I saw many charger sets and miscellaneous flashlights in the buggies.
Three fantastic deals were:
Ball extra-wide-mouth canning lids 12-pk, $2.49 BOGO for $1.25 each. This store had three or four *cartons* of those lids, probably 100+ boxes total. I don't recall ever seeing these below $2 before.
Duracell 4-slot AA/AAA NiMH battery chargers PLUS 4 AA batteries - 2/$13.99; plus $2/1 coupon from Thursday Neighbor inserts = 2 chargers + 8 rechargeable AAs for net of $9.99 ... (normally this brand's set of 4 AA rechargeables is $8.99). One charger will get put in a drawer until these AAs need a boost; the other goes on Freecycle.
Garrity LED flashlights - $5 each (regularly $9.99) - plus BOGO coupon from green flier = 2 for $5 (normally $19.98). A nice bonus is that these each came with 4 alkaline AAs. Not rechargeable, alas, but I'll put rechargeables (purchased in the same trip) in the Garritys and then the unused 8 alkaline AA's go into the Battery-Stash for later use.
Net was 8 rechargeables, 8 non-rechargeables, 2 LED flashlights and 2 battery chargers for $14.99 total -- and I actually had flashlights and rechargeable AAs on the BOLO list!
A different store we visited today had:
Johnson & Johnson "burn" bandage pads, $2.90 each. Stacked the $2/2 blinkie with the $3/2 from the green flier to get $5/2 ... two boxes for a net of 80 cents.
Several Nivea-for-Men products on BOGO.
