Hi!
The North Brunswick, NJ location actually doubles coupons up to 99 cents for a total doubled coupon amount of $1.98. Although I have never seen a 99 cent coupon - I am still hoping! 
A&P has the same thing. Our flyer will read "look for a .75 coupon in this Sunday's paper! .75 savings!" instead of the $1.50 the coupon will actually double to. It's weird.
