HyVee ziplock steal today with raincheck

Hello!

I had a great day at my hyvee today. I did two different transacations. First I went in to look to see if they had the ziplock expandable bottom bags in yet since they went on sale for .50 cents a piece 3 weeks ago. They did finally, but there were only about 20 or so and I had enough coupons to get 37 for free. So I went to the customer service desk to tell them about my situation. They said I technically shouldn't have been given a raincheck for those ziplocks as they were trying to get rid of them because they're not going to stock them anymore, and what they have on the shelf is all they have in the store. So she said, as I thought my luck ran out, that they would honor the raincheck, but just buy the regular bags without the expandable bottoms. So I used my $1/2 coupons and a few .40 cent off coupons with my raincheck. I went back to the customer service desk to check out as I figured it would be a pain in the neck to do, and it'd be better to do it there. It took maybe 10 minutes or so. The customer service worker sure was surprised and a little annoyed at how much work it was for her. She started to protest that the coupon said limit one per purchase. Occasionally I run into a few cashiers that believe one coupon per transation is what this means. I convinced her that it meant per item, either that or she just didn't want to argue anymore. Anyways...my total raincheck and coupon savings was a little over $103 and of course since my state has sales tax, I had a little tax to pay. So my out of pocket expense was $1.26 for 37 boxes.
I went back into the store to get my regular groceries after I put the boxes in my vehicle. I also had a great coupon total of about $37 dollars, not including the sale savings. So all in all I had a great day at the store.

Just thought I'd share...hyvee was very nice about the raincheck situation.
